But Grohl wasn't the one calling the shots in Nirvana...The success of the Foos is all due to Grohl...

And let's be honest, the only band still around and successful from the "Grunge" era is Pearl Jam...Cobain would not of had what it takes to be relevant for as long as they have...And i say only band around because the Pumpkins are living off their name as well as Alice In Chains...

Good point, even though it wasnt Grohl's band, i'd like to think that he had at least some say in the music, but honestly, who knows if he wouldeven have been the same artist as he is now if Cobain had not died.

Great song. I even learned how to play it on the guitar.

And all I listen to is rap.

you know i can't really speak on Nirvana i know a hell of alot more about Pearl Jam but as far as I know Grohl just played along with whatCobain was doing and in the mean time was putting away tracks for himself on the side...that's where the Foos first album comes from...

The only grunge stuff I specifically remember hearing before this was Temple of the Dog's joints. This song was awesome.

You have to wonder just how much Grohl's has played a part considering Foo Fighter's success.

Much appreciated. Cobain hated this song actually..
My fav Nirvana song of all time is Lithium.

I hate Kurt's guitar-playing with a passion, but his voice compensated for that.

I remember buying a bootleg unoff. greatest hits album of their's in 2001 in Colombia and it had some nice tracks on there, some rare live stuff too, allbetter than smells like teen spirit. This song isn't bad, I like it but it isn't earth-shattering either..

For the record I'm not saying all these songs are more influential or better at all, but I think the riffs are all a lot better. It took me 5 minutes tolearn the guitar riff for "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and I'm a bass player so I just don't appreciate the guitar playing much. The melody isby far the best thing in that song.

I'll probably edit and add later if I have some down time.
