No love for the Zoom Kobe 3?

I had these when they originally came out in 08 and wore them to the ground. I remember the first day I wore them, I was in college and everyone was asking me what they were because the design was so unique and got lots of compliments. They were so comfortable and extremely light. I know they brought them back for a limited prelude run, but I want this colorway to comeback. I don’t ever hear anyone talk about this shoe. Bottom line, they need a protro return.

I’ve been trying to sell my barely worn pair of ZK3 OGs (black colorway as well) at my local consignment shop for a year now. Just the other day someone bought my likewise barely worn OG black/yellow 2s after the same amount of time. And this is in L.A.
Doesn’t seem like there’s a lot of interest in those models; I don’t blame Nike for skipping them in the Protro schedule.
I love Kobe and the Lakers, and I love the good Kobe Nike models. But to me they don’t have a ton to draw from for retro releases: 1, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 11. I actually like the 10 but don’t see loads of interest in it, either.

LOL Kobe was the only reason I bought them. I had to talk myself into them. The 2 is just weird, though that sole is epic. The 3 actually ain’t bad but it depends on the colorways. And Nike really never released any of the good ones. But I do still find it interesting as a design because in retrospect you can see how it foretold of where the line was headed.
Now that I think about it, I do still have my ZK2 “concord” IDs in mint condition. Another example of colorways going a long way.

Sorry for the typo, I meant “kobes”, meaning the 2 and 3 didn’t have the mass appeal the shoes 4 and after had. The average consumer and most “sneaker heads” weren’t checking for Kobes before the 4.

I mean, were they ever “cool”? And if so the first ones were always the coolest looking silhouette until the 9 dropped. Kobes shoes were always a victim of the worst nike upper materials in the entire history of the company. That plastic trash had no give to it whatsoever and was unsightly for footwear. Same goes for the majority of lebrons line although his silhouettes were always extra and bulky nonsense.

You think that the ZK1’s hit the outlets quick? The 3 will be rtv’ed with the quickness if they re released, which is exactly what happened when they first released. I realize that there is an attempt to reinvent kobe’s image post career, but nothing he has ever really done, has been considered cool. This is coming from someone who loved playing in the ZK1 outdoors this past summer.

I’ve seen your posts on these forums for many years, and generally have a similar stance to yours, but it seems you’re imparting you’re own feelings of the ZK3 on everyone else, including Kobe. It’s well known that Kobe was hands on with Avar going back to the 2K4. Its absurd to think he wouldn’t like the final product.
