My bad for the late response, I try not to look down on other beliefs but when I do my research and find contradictions then I question.
can't be serious

Haha yes, have you seem Saturn for your very own eyes? I'm not talking books or tv.
That's not faith; that's denial. We're all in denial over the fact that we could potentially die at any moment, and it's actually a healthy form of denial. If we walked around all the time with the thought of "I could die at any moment" in our heads the entire species would be mired in depression. My bad for the late response so many people, I am on my iphone.Still waiting for 360waves to name something that I believe in that relies on faith...
Alright this may not be the best example but waking up tomorrow. Having faith or hope your eyes open tomorrow and you start your day normally. No doctor, no other human being can tell you if you are going to wake up tomorrow perfectly fine, able bodied what have you. that in a way can be some type of faith or hope or self surety that you wake up tomorrow.
No stats/ average life expectancy data/ chart/ psychic/ person on this planet can guarantee waking up tomorrow let alone breathing in 20 mins. ( god willing everyone does). I'm not sure if that is the best example however that is a form of faith/ hope/ reliance on something out of your control/ something bigger than yourself whether it be god in my opinion or science to others. Faith in something that is never guaranteed.

Better luck next time.
I was genuinely troubled by dude asking that question, it speaks VOLUMES about how some religious people think.
Dudes out here still living in the dark ages.
This doesn't really address my concern, though. Why do we deserve punishment when we had no choice in life to begin with? God created man and realized he made a huge mistake. That is god's fault, not man's. We wouldn't sin if we didn't exist and we wouldn't exist if god didn't create us. Is god really this illogical?1.Cus God wants something. He wants to be chosen. We have free will, but he wants you to choose Him. He thinks He's worth it.
(Since He created everything and allowed you the opportunity to exist in this realm) Its not that we live, its how we choose to live.
Think of it like a relationship wit a girl.
Thats your girl but you dont call her (pray), spend time with her ( read ), you dont do what she likes ( His will).
When you run into her, you think she gonna give you the sacred yambz?
As I pointed out above, I was forced into life. We all were. No one had a choice in being born. If god can force you into life, why can't he force salvation onto you?2.Salvation is granted to everyone. But God never forces anything on you. So you have to accept it. Its your decision. We all cant take a gift we all dont want.
Dude just keep that poison away from other people's children and I don't have a problem with you.
I don't know what what you said has to do with being scientifically illiterate. Keep it away from my classrooms I don't want my kids growing up stupid.
It honestly upsets me how someone's beliefs can be trashed like this. As a lifelong Christian, there are numerous things about atheism that I don't know how people accept. But I will never talk down on someone because of what they believe, no matter how ridiculous I might find it.
Everyone has their reasons for what they believe, and there are multiple valid reasons why people find it hard to put faith in any religion. Child molestation, the hypocrisy in the Church, traditions/teachings that aren't even based on the Bible that religions claim, crazy things people who claim Christianity say(as seen in this thread) along with scriptures that seem to be contradictions found in the Bible that religious people don't/can't explain properly. The "God is a mystery" fallacy etc. But at the same time, there are also numerous reasons that people put faith in God.
I usually stay out of these threads, because as I said it's honestly upsetting, but anyone with serious questions about the Bible I'll be glad to answer. I'll just ignore anyone bashing religion.
Yea you can do this without poisoning their minds with ignorance. All these values can be taught without religion.
What were you initially, meaning your family? What religions did you look into and why did you pick Islam?I dont look for them but if I happen to come across a discrepancy I question it. Why wouldn't I?
If one book says something different than the other, why not question it? When I was soul searching I had. A clean slate for every religion. I tried to take out my bias. It's not 100 percent but I honestly tried in the religions I researched.
lol yea, will YOU do that with your children. Will YOU let them find their own path?
You're mistaken if you think I'm advocating forcing atheism on anyone, I'm advocating keeping the discussion out of the classroom completely. If you want to discover spirituality there are various churches and temples for that. And I'm not forcing atheism or religion on my children, I will let them find their own path.....that's more than most religious people will be willing to do. You will never hear a Muslim say, I will let my child find his own religion. Religion will fail to thrive without indoctrination from a young age. The best way to create an atheist is to give them every religious scripture and teach them to think logically and objectively.

I don't believe in the white man's God but I would wear robes, Jesus sandals and a Bible around my neck to get up in that thang.
this chick i know is really hot but she sucks..
shes so damn boring and overall just oblivious to anything.
this was her FB status tonight.
"Can't STAND when ppl throw the fact that I'm a Christian in my face. Like I'm not allowed to EVER get mad or anything. It's so ridiculous —feelingpissed off."
me: those people are called christians.
her: what people?
this is her.
lol you're going to bring your children to the mosque right? :\
When immense tragedy happens atheists confide in friends, family, music, counseling, art, group therapy, helping others who may be going through the same ordeal etc. Just because you need to pray to an imaginary being to deal with tragedy doesn't mean everyone needs to. They don't need your fake egotistical applause.

I think I understand your concern. Your saying : If we are sinners and sinners deserve judgement, why are we set up to fail?
If that is what your asking, we dont have to live in sin. We make mistakes but if we can acknowledge them, learn from them and try to avoid them then that is true repentance.
Calling ourselves sinners is not even accurate. We possess the capability to sin ( and do so often and easily) but we dont have to.
Your werent forced into life. You are the result of your mother and fathers decision ( or lack there of : no diss, but lot of kids are unplanned. )
