Norcal's GRUB Thread

theres a place called Pacific Catch in the Bay, various locations one I went to was in SJ and SF. real good seafood and asian grill place. Environment is real cool like the type of place to eat before going out for the night while still being able to holla out girls there. young and hip

^ good to know I use to always pass by the one in the inner sunset always wondered how the food was.

exact one I went to bro. my older bro got me onto looking at Yelp where ever I'm at for a place to eat. I've done it several times and all successes. I was in Oakland for my brothers concert one time. after that, was hungry Yelped and with like over 500 good reviews we went to a place called Shan Dong Mandarin Restaurant in the center of Oaklands chinatown for some chinese. highly recommend that one as well

Pacific Catch was a successful Yelp

also Slow Hand BBQ in Pleasant Hill was my latest yelp few weeks back. good brisket, pulled pork, mac n cheese and like 50 beer choices

Korean - SGD Tofu House - website: http://www.yelp.com/biz/sgd-tofu-house-santa-clara. I like the Seafood Pancake and the Original Soft Tofu Soup.
Korean - 99 Chicken - website: http://99chicken.com/2.php. Fried Chicken (#1). The rice/salads/daikon/other sides are included in the cost.
Italian - Mio Vicino - website: http://miovicino-santaclara.com/. Portabella Fusilli or Penne Marsala.

Vietnamese - Pho Khang - website: http://www.phokhang.com/. Pho Dac Biet (Pho - Special - #1). Vermincelli Noodles bowl with pork and shrimp.

Sunnyvale
Korean - Bonchon Chicken - website: http://www.bonchonbayarea.com/. Medium Mixed Chicken - either Soy Garlic Sauce or even plain (not on the menu).
Burgers - St. John's Bar and Grill - website: http://sites.citycheers.com/96605. Mushroom Chicken Sandwich, Bacon Swiss Chicken (usually go on Tuesday's when it's Half off Chicken Sandwiches)
Korean - Palace BBQ - website: http://www.yelp.com/biz/palace-bbq-buffet-sunnyvale. Buffet where you have your own grill and cook meats on your own.

Note: I'll create one for the San Jose spots I like when I have time again.

I've been meaning to eat at Ike's back when they had one store, glad they are expanding throughout the Bay. Didn't know they open one in Cupertino and Santa Clara. Will be trying it out soon.

In sac:

Im always on a mission to find the best burrito. Nothing has beat Taqueria Rincon Alteno (imo) in Natomas, right by Sleep Train. A close second is Gordido Burrito on Sac State campus.

Local burger place I love is Burgess Brothers Burgers on Sutterville in Sac by the city college. Kinda pricey, but goooood.

And of course Luigi's pizza on Stockton Blvd.

Still waiting on your San Jose edition

Al pastor is where it's at for me when it comes to burritos. All the other meats can kick rocks. That said Taqueria Guadalajara in SF so far has the best Al pastor to me. Still need to go to La Corneta and Papalote.

Anyone know a good breakfast place in Santa Clara?

A lot of people swear by Bill's, but every time I go, I end up disappointed. Food is bland.

There's a place off Saratoga called Bill of Fare. Really good. Keep it on the low though, place already gets bonkers sometimes.

^^ did you try the chicken heart??

and Lunch or Dinner?

they have different menus for both
