I've never been to a broadway show and well - I'd like this weekend to be my first time - anyone have a tip for a decent discount on prices?

TKTS will probably give you the best deal there is. I think I got more than half off from the most expensive seats in the house for Chicago once. TKTS sells leftover tickets a few hours before actual shows, heavily discounted so they can fill the seats. All you have to do is line up. Lots of people do it.
