so I got fired from my job two weeks ago...not mad, but it's mad inconvenient...backstory: i got this job thrugh a staffing agency...when i got put on in June, my supervisor added another duty to the job which completely threw me off...it was distracting from my other job duties, and since i'm the only person their who knows how to work my particular area, anytime something goes wrong it's my ***...so my boss calls a meeting between...during the meeting i start venting my frustrations about the job and my boss starts getting personal as in "you'll have time to do it, if you don't waste your time doing ______"...it pissed me off because i bust my *** there and him and the other guy don't really do ****...either way, we start going at it...the other guy walks away (*****) and me and my boss go at it for about five minutes...
anyway, we decide to cool it down and he goes to get the other guy...they come back in and he starts talking...he goes on to say something that i think is wrong but he wants me to agree with...i told him was would speak my peace after he was done and he gets mad and steps in my face...i put my hand on his chest to back him off and he gives me a menacing look and says "don't you ever in your life put your hands on me." dude is like 5'8 230 lbs, so i laughed in his face, but i was pretty heated that somebody (especially my boss) would step to me like that, so i walked away and got my back pack...when I came back out my area he immediately asked my my badge, phone, and key which i proceeded to toss in the trash...
so i talk to the big boss on the phone a few days later and tell him what happened and he tells me that my boss has terminated me...
cool...
so i asked him to email me the reason for my termination, so i can have it on record...after a week and a half and me sending him a few more emails, i get this back:
I will check with ****** on the status of your check. As to the termination, that was sent to ***** ****** as a voluntary termination. D (my supervisor) told me that you quit and then threw your badge, phone and keys in three different directions. When I spoke with you on the phone you also confirmed that you quit because D was asking you to do more than you felt was reasonably achievable. I would agree that was the case except you refused to allow him to completely explain that while you were doing deliveries, some of your current responsibilities were being removed. This would have resulted in you actually having more time to attend to the returns area. In addition to that, we were in the process of modifying the returns processing which would have resulted in a much smoother process. Unfortunately, you lost your temper and would not allow D to completely explain the process. The exchange got heated and you quit.
now this pisses me off...i never quit and if they were to push that on me, it was definitely not for that reason...usually, i would cut my loses, but I kinda wanna stick it to these dudes for this bs...i was thinking about sending him this back:
I never quit. I walked away after he stepped in my face. D asked me for my badge, phone, and keys which was the basis of my termination and you told me on the phone that he terminated me. I never told you or D that I quit, so I don't understand how that's coming up. I said i thought the deliveries were too much, which we were having a conversation about that never got finished. I don't see how that's me "quitting because D was asking me to do more than I felt was reasonably achievable". I didn't lose my temper during the last exchange. D was mad when I responded, "I'll say what I have to say", instead of answering his question and begin yelling at me, I walked away after he got aggressive with me and told me to never put my hands on him again.
But thanks for the confirmation. Exactly what I was looking for.
***UPDATE***
So I just got this email back from my boss after a few days.
[COLOR=#red]Glad you recieved your check. D told me you quit and you didn't show up for work for several days and didn't call in. Seem pretty conclusive that you left and didn't intend on returning. In fact when I reached out to you, you didn't respond for one day, then told me that you were too upset to talk the next day. It wasn't until the third day that we even talked. Did you at anytime reach out to D and tell him that you were requesting time off or that you intended on returning? If you did, I am unaware of it.
