NT, how do Mitchell & Ness jerseys fit?

I would post this is general but I know that if I did I would get responses like "Lulz jerseys went out of style like 8 years ago son" or "Cool story bro" so i came in here because real sports fans never stop wearing jerseys. So, my birthday is coming up and I'm looking to buy a Dan Marino throwback online, I usually wear a size Medium for my everyday clothes but football jerseys tend to run pretty big. So what do you all think? Should I go with the size 40 (M) or the 36 (S)?
