Packers will cover.
The lions are extremely over-rated, they got owned in a huge game against the bears and then followed it up by getting manhandled at home by a terrible Panthers team early (I picked them and am glad they covered that spread) but if they even half way resemble that performance for 1 quarter against a great packers squad it'll be a track meet EARLY.

The results from those games do not carry over into this game though. First off, teams matchup differently against certain opponents, but most of all, what we should learn from the NFL (especially betting the NFL) is that teams can look dramatically different from week to week. There are tons of examples of this.

Also, I cannot emphasize enough how much more dynamic Detroit has become in the two short weeks that they've had Kevin Smith. Many other variables play right into the hands of the Lions tomorrow and it's why I don't think people should blindly think that Detroit is overrated and will go down to an undefeated Packer team.

- Kevin Smith.  Green Bay gives up massive YPC and with any semblence of a running game should bode well for a team that has all they need from an aerial attack standpoint. Smith also catches the ball out of the backfield extremely well. Despite missing almost a year of football, Smith looks like the real deal. Explosive, quick, and great vision.

- On the other side, GB is w/o Starks. Sure, the Packers will give it to Grant to try and stay balanced, but let's be real, Grant is nothing flashy and is strictly a north/south runner that needs holes in order to be effective. Detroits defensive front should be forcing GB to pass early and often.

- GB can score a lot of points. Yeah, well so can Detroit. The Packers, as we know, can be scored against. A track meet doesn't separate GB as easy favorites even if they do jump out to a quick lead. If we want to talk about past games then remember Detroit has a propensity for comeback wins and GB has let a few teams back in down the stretches of games.

- It's Thanksgiving man. This is Detroit's game and that crowd will by rowdy as all get out (automatic defensive advanage for a dome team). Last year the game was what...7-3? Detroit is a much better team than last years. Besides, it's a divisional game. No matter a teams record, no matter the division, there is alway a good chance division games stay close.

- Short week. It's short for both teams, but you always gotta give the advantage on a short week to the home team. Perfect recipe for a sneak attack on GB.

Having said that...
