Just got through reading an article on Offenses  wins games, not the Defense. I wanted to see how , using the OFFENSIVE STAT, an ORANK SYSTEM compare to the DRANK SYSTEM that I’ve been tracking since Week 1.

Since I did not track the Offensive Rating/Ranking from week 1, I used only the  weeks that  I have noted in my notebook (Week 7,8,9). I know the sample size is small, but, the results, I think, is worth the post.  This is a very simple system with only one exception to the rule: Eliminate the double-digit favorite from the system.
Plays/Picks does not take anything (injuries, weather, etc) into consideration. Only criteria is to play on the higher ranking/rated offense, according to a stat (same one as the DRANK stat, only using the offensive stat here) I use to measure best to worst offenses.

I went through my notes for the last three weeks to get all the plays. I used my parlay lines, divided it by two and used that number as my half-time line, and based the win/loss record on it. I tried looking for past half-time lines but couldn’t find a site with them. Your BEST BETS would be to play all the DOGS (in system) to win the 1st Half bet.

Here’s the breakdown

Well, the little system went 3-1 this week.  I had 1/2 unit round robin parlays of 2's, 3's, and 4, so 11 total parlays for 5.5 units.  Profited 3 units off it.  And the Lions had a real chance to tie it at half which would have meant a sweep and hitting all 11 parlays which would have been ridiculous.  Anyway, definitely something I will be looking at next week as well.

Other thing of note, through SNF, OVERS ARE 10-3.  Wow.

Had a nice weekend profiting a little over 11 units.  Killed it in football, not so much in basketball.  I did have my 1st winning NFL week in 4 weeks, so that's a good feeling.  I don't usually do this, but I feel like posting my weekend because I play way too many things

Definitely nice to end the night with a win, especially when it's a straight up Fakers loss

Scary stuff.... I just went back over my NFL #'s.  This was my 1st winning week since Week 4.  Wow.  I've only had 3 winning weeks out of 10.  Not good.  Had a real big week in week 10 though when you include hitting the over in Thursday night's game, so hopefully I can get some momentum for the rest of the season to push back towards breaking even.   A break even NFL season would be a huge win for me.

just curious, but why keep fighting that fight?

Minnesota -13 - As noted, more of a fade on Siena than anything.

Alabama -19 1/2 - Troy returns 0 starters. Only 3 guys return that saw court time last year, no impact talent newcomers. Solid year last year makes this line shorter than what it should be, IMO. Alabama has more familiarity now with A. Grant.

St. Mary's -4 1/2 - new staff, new system. St. Mary's is not a place you want to debut at. even more so if you're a team from the East Coast.

and waiting to see how high I can get the Miami line at. hopefully it gets pushed to 8. Only cocnern is playing in FedEx Forum at night (plus anyway, Memphis is great at home, Miami sucks on the road). But, Haith has his rotation down, Pastner does not. Grant/Scott keep it close.

This guy was red hot yesterday.  One of the cappers I follow was already on Washington, and this guy's write up sealed it for me.....

..........................................................

On to tonight we have the PERFECT SET-UP for tonights game:

-McNabb against his old team, Vick playin against his best friend

-Philly just beat Indy in a HUGE HUGE S/U WIN for them, and if you watched the end of the game VICK was screaming and fell to the ground in Physical and Mental anguish that he Finnaly beat the NFL poster Child boy Manning. He was screaming like Rocky Balboa after goin 12 rounds with MR T. I think he was screaming more cause his Prize pit bull just won him 20K in a Dog Fight. I smell a let up here as the team is still talking about last weeks win against the Colts even all the way up to Friday???? He Ried get your guys FOCUSED one win dont make a season. WELL the reason they can still LIVE on last weeks game is THIS GAME HAS ALREADY BEEN PLAYED THE MINUTE THE LINE WENT -3.5......Ahhhhh YES the DREADED HOOK...

- The line opened at -3 and the Books got POUNDED on PHILLY after there BIG HUGE WIN over the COLTS, Then in a BLINK of an eye they moved up to -3.5 and the PUBLIC didnt give a CRAP they kept POUNDING it....To the TUNE of 70+%% on ALL sites.

- Lets FACE it these two teams STATS are a MIRROR Image of EACHOTHER..I looked for about 2 hours and Could not find anything that really made me think that PHILLY WILL KILL THEM. Ok so Now I have a CLOSE game as the stats point to...Now add in this weeks play in the NFL and we have what I like to call ---------------->

A HOLLYWOOD ENDING MOVIE GAME

- Lets Face it, VICK and MCNABB are one in the same ( MIght even have the same Baby's Daddy), these guys love the attention and really like eachother. Yes in the Old days PHILLY HATES WASH and Vice-versa.....BUT Those days are NOT HERE in this game as you have 2 Leaders that like eachother. I will bet you that if you watch the game, you will SEE PLAYERS FROM THE OTHER TEAM HELPING EACHOTHER UP AFTER A TACKLE, AND ALOT OF BUTT SLAPPIN WITH EACHOTHER. These things would NEVER happen in the past, but they will tonight.

--I can honestly say that this game will make WASH and PHILLY fans sick to there stomach.

- I KNOW WASH BEAT PHILLY IN THERE OWN BACK YARD 17-12 on the 10th of Oct. So that gets the REVENGE factor into peoples heads. Could be right, BUT MY MONEY SAYS NOT BY MORE THAN A FIELD GOAL......

--SO GRAB THAT 3.5 and RUNNNNNNNNN to the WINDOW for THAT TICKET>>>>

..........................................................................................................................................

I'm on Washington +3.5 -112 for 4 units, along with 2 units on over 42.5 -108.  I like the Washington play a lot.  The over is just to follow the over trend in the NFL.

Also playing the Clippers -2.0 -108 for 2 units.

Well, what couldve been a great day yesterday ended up being just a good one with the Steelers debacle...Belichek screws me again. I really, really, really need to learn not to bet against him or Peyton.

Sorry guys for that final tip, I know SNF and MNF games are bet the most,

4w, not sure why you never said anything about my parlay advice, only trying to help you man...I gotta read those other two posts above though so maybe you did,

Allen, you gonna be around all night/morning? We got the 24 hour CBB day finally, I've already capped most of the games I just need to see some lines, LVSC was so far off on the opening night they really f'ed me...I cannot wait for this though. Went to bed midway through 4th of the SNF game and woke up about 30 minutes ago so I'm prepared for this...going to be a hectic night/morning with a ton of 1st half/game/2nd half bets going on, let's try and double our rolls though...this is a day to have pure fun and enjoy it, we rarely get it in the gambling world

Hope I can make up for the Steelers play with a few key CBB games over the next 36 hours,

And I will just say this about MNF - Philly is a much better team but the fact that the Pats made everyone money last night is scary - public won big on that one, and if Philly wins that'll be two primetime games where the public cashes huge, doesn't happen often, so maybe we'll see a 28-27 type game with Philly winning but Wash covering...since the big plays on dogs are usually ML's and Philly backers will take -3 or -3.5

Look forward to hearing what you guys have to say about the madness coming up throughout the day

It's a horrible financial decision to parlay in the first place, but when you parlay games at all different times it takes it to a whole nother level of stupid (sorry for being blunt),

For instance, you parlay a couple 1pm games, a couple 4pm games, fine, that's even a bit over the top but sometimes the 1pm games run into the 4pm'ers so I can understand - example - the Jets/Browns today running into OT, but to add the 8:20pm game, or *shudders* the MNF game just does not make sense. There are so many things that could happen before and you're never going to run into the problem of the 4pm games bleeding over into the 8:20pm game, or hell even the MNF game
laugh.gif

It's much more logical to parlay your 1pm games (and sometimes add in the 4pm's) and then collect your money and then make a play...

Say you have 100 to win 1000 on a 4 teamer,

1pm - Bengals +7,
1pm - Jaguars PK,
1pm - Bills PK,
8pm - Steelers -5.5

If you had just done the 3 teamer, you're getting 100 to win 600, you have 700 now going into the 4pm games, or even the 8pm game. When you add a team in the 8pm time slot you're essentially risking all 700 to win 400 on that Steelers play, just not a smart financial decision, plus, would you really like the Steelers that much to risk all that $? Probably not.

I tried to put it in simple terms, wrote it quick, and wow at Felix Jones with the long TD run as I type this, but I want to pass along any knowledge I can to you guys - I hope it makes sense, and none of you will ever parlay games at different times (and different dates)

There is nothing worse than the guy that parlays a bunch of Sunday games, and then throws in the Monday Night Football game with them, nothing. That is how you lose long term.
Sorry, I wasn't ignoring your post.  Honestly didn't see it until you just posted.

I'm someone who never parlays.  I'm firmly against them.  95%+ of my plays are straight single bets.  Reading what you wrote above makes perfect sense.  I probably wouldn't do the round robin set of parlays again, especially with the games falling at different times.

please tell me that post about the Philly/Washington game is from Sammy Meatballs, if it is, could you link me to where he's posting now? It sounds just like him, and I lost contact with him about 6 months ago when he was banned from CTG - which blows, one of my favorite guys with interesting angles (although he didn't throw out too many interesting angles in that writeup...but the UPPERCASE words are somewhat of a giveaway, that's his style)

Really need to reconnect with dude, I got a new phone and lost all my contacts awhile back and was never able to get in touch with him...I hope its him
