NT, What Beer Do You Drink?

Very successful can release at Other Half this morning.  Line wasn't crazy and the weather was great. I got there at 9:00, they opened at 10:00 and I was out by 10:30 with a full allotment and an egg sandwich.  The Bunker collab is drinking great right now:
Very nice! Been wanting to try Other Half for the longest time, but I live in Cali

A hop pest devastates ALL strains of hops except for one which has a resistance gene to that pest. Which variety do you wish it'd be?

I'm going Nelson. Citra a very close second.

Imma have to go with Citra. Nelson and Mosaic are right behind though.

Hangar 24 barrel roll: Pugachev's cobra

Nice, i'm still sitting on a 2014 bottle. Might have to crack it open soon!

Being sick sucks. I wish not even my enemies a stomach flu. Been on the toilet for 3 days lol. Nausea, cold sweats. Taste buds are there fortunately. Nose is fine. But it feels like I've had a hangover for the past 3 days. Bad timing considering a bottle release of what is likely now my favorite local IPA.

Weekend haul as I'm trying to finally down just one beer in completion

Nothing too new, except a return of some Bosque Scale Tipper IPA. Man that's juicy stuff. This local shop has been sitting on some Weihenstephaner Festbier since October. It's been cold the whole time. And on sale this time around. Quite the find. FBS sitting plentiful. Finally seeing some 11/15 bottles (other shop in town has 9/15). And then of course, some easy drinker dos equis, and local elevated. sounds like a broken record for me. Springs usually suck for beer as I see alot of kolsches and irish reds. Not big on those.

Tough call on the hops question. Just had a local one (scale tipper) featuring mosaic, simcoe, El dorado, and Citra. Wayyyy nice. Elevated features Mosaic and Simcoe as well. So right off the bat, I would have to say Simcoe and Mosaic shall forever be remember

My favorite hop varies depending on my mood, but Mosaic, Citra, Nelson, and Galaxy will always be the mainstays.

Here's tonight's slow-sipper:

I gave a sample to my friend without telling him what it was and he was convinced it was Dino S'mores.  Having tasted it myself now, the prediction wasn't that far off.  Crazy when you consider this has no adjuncts in it.

That post just made me mad lol

See what you done started Wally :lol. Xoco is long gone here in Norcal otherwise I'd probably try it as well.

Finally got to mix these up yesterday. Pretty damn amazing...

Cheers. Did the same just now

It takes what I dislike about xoco and it's somewhat thin body, and turns it into a legit full bodied beast. Adding death by coconut is a crazy nice element. Luckily I haven't gone too crazy. Only mixed 4 total beers, all stouts/porters.

Mixing has that sort of taboo aspect about it from the purists. But look at Firestone walkers anniversary beer. That's a mix of like 6 of their best beers.

I can sit back on a couple bottles if people want to make arrangements with me ;)

Da hen, NM. Bosque and lc give it away?

NM, me too. The LC elevated gave it away, lots of good breweries here. I'm more of a stout/porter regarding nicer beers, PBR is my daily.

Nice. I think I remember you from way back RE shoes etc.. Hobbies have sorta shifted away from trainers. This hobby is more immediate, emotional, seemingly less material.

You try any of the new places? ABQ is up to 24 breweries in the immediate area (not including taprooms from other areas in the ABQ area). I think even the four corners, down south, and up near SF is seeing an increase in brewery #s too.

I tend to lean on the IPAs, stouts, and pilsners, more than anything. I have many I never tend to buy or drink enough. Santa Fe Imperial Java Stout, Marble Oatmeal Stout, LC Malpais. Some really solid canned/bottled offerings. I try to stay away from draft only brewery offerings. Every place in town is raising pint prices. I can't afford $20/brewery visit, let alone $10/sixer. Marble IPA and their Pilsner are some go tos too. Although lately, i can't seem to find it fresh/cheap enough.

Looks like Bosque made it to the final four of the national IPA challenge once again. Defending that crown with back to back national championship appearances.

You got any local favorites? RE: cheapish type daily no thinker beers, my general bubble of people tend to drink dos equis. It's nearly the price of craft though. I really need to find a cheaper hobby

Interesting. Kinda reminds me of GF buying out Alpine. A larger "microbrewery" buying out a smaller one.

Hope CC expands its dist to Cali.
