NT's LEGAL Gun Thread UPDATE...First Youtube Firearm Review Page 61

@jewseesay I got so many parts for 1911s if you need any. I liked my RIA tactical just had to cop power mags from chip McCormick. A custom target 2 for $600 not bad.

Ya the phillipines 1911s are all solid. RIA. ATI. STI. IVER JOHNSON. the parent companies use pretty sophisticasted equipment and the fitting and tolerances are suprinsingly good for mass production. Metals arnt the greatest but neither was the stuff in.the original 1911s n they lasted forever. The mags are indeed trash. Im runin 2 colt 7 rders and a chip 8 with base plate. Alrdy had the recoil assembly replaced. Screws n grips on
Tryna decide on a front sight now. Prob jus a hi viz fiber optic

JSJ, Cotite, and JD...great pick ups!!

JSJ all I will ever really suggest with 1911s is that you figure out what your particular firearm likes to eat (it can vary from pistol to pistol even the same manufacturer and model), get the feed ramp polished eventually if that's not already done, and get some reliable aftermarket mags. Put between 300-500 rounds through her and then you'll be good. The 1911s with the tighter tolerances can be finicky.

Nice build JD...the custom engraving is a cool personal touch.

Cotite, I see you getting more and more advanced in the firearm realm bro. Good stuff. There's a lot of great options in the 1x4 magnification optics range. Don't sleep on Vortex Optics...they are becoming a juggernaut in the optics game. Vortex Viper PST 1-4x24mm is :smokin

Went to a gun show recently. I really like the Glock 30S and I hated Glocks for a very long time.

I too was a Glock hater for many years. I preferred almost all the major manufacturers over them. I've owned Sig, FN, Kimber and all of my new out the box handguns retailed for over $1k...then I tried the plain ole simple Gen 4 Glock 26 for $500 and it's the longest I've ever kept one handgun. I simply cannot get it to misfire or jam, it's stupid accurate even though I have huge hands and it's a tiny gun. My Sig P229 Elite was more Gucci, but I had to really take care of it.

To me Glocks are the AKs of the pistol world, its perfection lies within their reliability and ruggedness. Accuracy can be gained with practice on almost any platform, but at the end of the day it's really all about will it go bang when I squeeze everytime, in almost any condition. That's why I'm a Glock and AK guy all day everyday.

Thx bruh. No doubt 1911s are more finnicky than their polymer counterparts. My PT1911 doesnt feed jhps for ****. It needs feed ramp.polish and barrel.throated but its prob gettin flipped. I havent had the Titan long.enough to see what it prefers but ill get it worked out as soon as i get more ammo.

I think workin out the kinks is fun tho. It is a hobby afterall

Yeah true J. There's so much you can do with 1911s. It's a true enthusiast firearm and you can inject your personality into them like no other. Not eem gonan lie, when I had my 1911 there were so many times I'd unload it and just look at it and mess around with it...not because I wanted to shoot, but to admire the workmanship. 1911s have souls :lol, my cold Austrian Glock has no soul and I rarely mess around with it unless going to the range, there's nothing to see about it. glock 20 fs

recoil isnt bad

700

I really been thinking about picking up the G20 for awhile now
How is the recoil and is it hard to find 10mm auto?

No, it's not hard to find.
but it's expensive.

Ammoseek.com is your friend ESPECIALLY wildcat ammo and ammo that isn't found at every store. It lists the prices from all over the internet. I consider it the one of the best ammo sites for those of us who shoot a lot but doesn't do reloading. Every once in awhile you can score a few deals at gunshows too, but all in all seek ammo at ammo seek :lol

man Ammoseek.com is my go-to spot!

I purchased a Springfield XDm 9mm almost a year ago, and love it. I'm hooked and want to definitely get me an assault rifle. I have zero experience with them, and have just started doing my homework. Obviously this thread is a wealth of info, so I've been going through the whole thing, from page 1.

anything specific I should consider, or any pointers I may want to know about, going into it without having owned one before?

Whats the draw to the vepr style weapons? I see the tavor has become alot more popular than the scar

Some Day ill start messin with rifles. Maybe start with a cheap sks n build my way up to a nice AK/AR/ACR

I just love bullpups and this one feels good when shouldered. I had a MSAR STG 556 which is basically a Steyr AUG clone which was an awesome gun but I sold it to build my UMP45 SBR and I always wanted to get another but then I checked out the Tavor and I love the look of it more plus it accepts AR-15 mags. I just lost my love for ARs, if I build another one it will be a SBR 9mm but then again there are 9mm kits for my UMP and the Tavor so I'm not sure yet.

Thats sick the tavor accepts AR mags. That splains some things haha

Shoulda had your gun store honor the rebate for you. Thats why i like bigger shops. Theyll eat the 100 all day n handle the junping thru hoops for ya. Remington has a similar deal goin on the R1s. Only 75 off tho

Tavor= one of the best implementations of bullpup style rifles ever made. Great pickup and definitely one to keep in the collection. Wasn't even aware they had them for sale in the civ market and. $1800 is not a bad price considering SCARs, ACRs, and MR556 (Civ version of the hk416) can cost around $2k.

Off the top of the head without googling Bullpups advantages are primarily that they offer a full size barrel in a more compact package because the grip and trigger are set forward of the receiver. Bullpups have suffered in the past because the trigger mechanism wasn't as great since it's connected to the fire control via a linkage instead of being directly connected since it's forward of the receiver. Also the ability to switch mags quickly takes more dexterity, but hey that's more of an issue for dudes who actually use their rifles in battle.

I'm with you as far as ARs go, I'm just not into them as much anymore, I fell in love with anything AK. Not to say ARs are crap, they're still awesome, I just prefer simple effective firearms now.

$800 including taxes was cheapest i could find. Didn't find out about the rebate until after i had ordered it. No sweat i can wait and use it for some ammo down the line.
