Walsh will not get an extension and a lot of heads will turn. All we had to do was give up Gallo, Fields and Chandler and we act like they're the second coming of some dream team filled with role players. SMH at all of this.
If Melo agrees to the deal it only means he really wanted the money and be in the NY media. He never wanted to win. At least LeBron went to Miami to win. This dude Melo will take a bigger Image hit.

Good news for me. I think imma cry if my fave current knick, Gallo, leaves. Just include chandler, douglas, curry, AR, roger mason and lets call it a day

You seem to be confused or not paying attention. Why do you think we would get Melo if all we had to do is give up those 3 guys? If we agreed to that deal Melo would say they also want Felton and Mozgove. We agree to that they ask for 3 1st round picks. We agree to that and then they say we have to take Harrington, Billups, and Birdman. We agree to that and then they start talking with the Nets again cuz they never wanted to trade with us from the jump.
We have to wait near the deadline when nobody else is entertaining the crazy requests from Denver and Melo declines in extending with the Nets. Then we'll have all the leverage and make the best deal or the still won't trade with us and we'll get Melo in FA.
Also, the Nets deal wouldn't leave them with enough cap space to get CP3 for the max contract he'll want.

Dude just said he never spoke to NJ or prokrorov and doesn't plan to. Then he said he could end this drama and go take Denver's extension I take it as a shot at the Knicks cause they are playing games if they are making Gallo untouchable

Melo's really starting to irk me. Either take the extension with Denver, agree to go to NJ or tell the Nuggets FO that it's Knicks or nothing. Seriously. Seems like dude likes the attention and just milking it at this point.

Lebron had nothing to lose by going to the Heat..He went from Cleveland, one of the lamest "major" cities in America, to Miami, a major city that is considered one of America's most exotic places..Plus, he already had like 10 endorsements under his belt by then so he wasn't losing any cash...Carmelo wouldn't get any positive improvements added to his reputation by playing in New Jersey aka America's Armpit
Edit: Also, Lebron was making history by pairing with Wade and creating one of the best duos in NBA HISTORY..Lopez and Melo wouldn't even fall into the top 10 duos in the league

I think some of you guys are underestimating Melo's intelligence...You don't think he's trying to play mind games with the Knicks also? He knows the Knicks feel they can get him in the summer if he doesn't get traded and he WANTS that money. We're judging the man saying that "money shouldn't be an issue" yet nobody in this thread would give up that kinda cash for no reason..He knows if he says he would sign with the Nets if offered it will make the Knicks nervous enough to make a deal happen ASAP.

If he did he would of been in NJ in September or October, or November, or December or last month or yesterday when deals were reportedly finalizing.

A person involved in the Carmelo Anthony trade saga told Alan Hahn of Newsday that there is still skepticism that the forward will sign off on a deal with the Nets as long as the Knicks are still in the game before the Feb. 24 trade deadline.
The Nets and Nuggets have reached an agreement on a trade that will land Carmelo Anthony in a nine-player deal, according to The Bergen Record. The swap is contingent on Anthony agreeing to a three-year, $65 million extension with New Jersey.
A source with knowledge of the situation told Newsday that Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov and hip hop star Jay-Z, who owns a minor stake in the team, are looking to meet with Anthony today in Los Angeles to sell him on making the commitment to the Nets.
Another source said the Knicks will not bow out without making at least one more attempt at acquiring Anthony before the trade deadline.
