Before I rip into the Knicks, this is just another example of the short-sightedness of Knicks fans. THE SKY IS FALLING, THE SKY IS FALLING. Aside from deciding not to foul, the players lost this game.
You know what I honed in on watching this game? Giving up more offensive rebounds. I thought I was just being picky because of the last game but we gave up -3 (16) offensive rebounds. Not sure how many of those were second chance points, but it looked like a lot.
Secondly, spare me the D'Antoni doesn't emphasize defense, if you as a player are giving up 18 points to Luke Harangody who is playing in his second NBA game, you have no one to blame but the players. And when you keep letting Ramon Sessions constantly get to the bucket, that's ON YOU. Samardo Samuels? Really? 15 points? These guys didn't even try to play defense.
Whatever, next game.

Cuz when we beat the Heat, Bulls, Spurs, etc. we look like a great team and yet no one will say "good job D'Antoni" cuz all the losses are his fault and none of the wins are credit to him. Gotcha.

Does anyone else think its corny as hell that Denver fans make it seem like we are the ones who got robbed in this trade for Melo yet they are the salty ones? Sorry, just had to vent. Knicks fans love to support Denver now that Gallo, Chandler, Felton, & Mosgov are on the team. Nothing but love when they win a game but when the Knicks lose, these salty Denver fans come out and say ****?

The general consensus on this board is that when we lose, the blame falls ENTIRELY on the coach... but when we win, the coach still sucks but it's the players stepping up.
I don't care what system, gameplan, philosophies, etc., the blame HAS to be given to both parties on a regular basis. Sure there are exceptions where the coach screws up (like not fouling Davis), but where's the blame for the players letting him get off a 3? Sure, the coach doesn't tell them to foul, but he didn't scream out "LET HIM SHOOT THE 3!!!!" either. Where's the blame to Melo for bulldozing down the lane rather than take the pull-up?
Bring in JVG, then in 10 games time people will be screaming "WHERES THE SCORING? WE HAVE AMARE AND MELO!!! STOP SLOWING THE GAME DOWN, LETS RUN!!"
