Jamal would be willing to return to Apple
By MARC BERMAN

Jamal Crawford was the first victim two years ago of the Knicks' cap-clearing crusade. And perhaps he can still be part of the future.

Crawford, a free agent this July, said he would "definitely listen" to the overtures from the Knicks, contract-extension talks with Atlanta having hit an impasse.

Crawford thrived in D'Antoni's offense -- as the Knicks got off to a 6-3 start. The Knicks were 6-5 when he was traded for Al Harrington.

And yesterday, in perhaps an audition, Crawford torched his old club with 21 points, 10 in the fourth quarter to repel the Knicks' rally.

"Why not," Crawford said. "I don't think the trade was personal. It was all about 2010 and the players you can possibly get. I love Atlanta. I want to work out an extension here, but if I become a free agent it's not the end of the world."

"I'll definitely listen," Crawford added. "If the extension isn't working out, I would definitely listen for sure. I would meet with them."

The Knicks will have room for a maximum contract in 2011, with Eddy Curry's contract expiring. If Carmelo Anthony is traded to the Nets, the Knicks have room for Crawford and another solid player.

The Knicks still have a gap at shooting guard, with concern about Kelenna Azubuike, who is expected to make his debut very soon, and Wilson Chandler being a free agent. The Knicks have started surprising rookie Landry Fields.

Crawford isn't sure this team is any better than the club broken up two seasons ago.

"In hindsight it's easy to say it wasn't worth it," Crawford said. "But you have to give yourself a chance for that [2010] class. I understand it. But looking back, I don' think it was totally worth it. But it's a risk you have to take."
First Jeffries, now Crawford. It sucked when we traded him, but still.  These dudes can come back if they enjoy minimum salary, all the money we spent.

Blame the Warrior's for not cleaning up that cut correctly. They sent Lee back in even when it was still bleeding, thus leading to infection, etc. Im no doctor, so i cant break everything down for you, but thats what ive been reading. They're definitely paying for that mistake. They're terrible without Lee
Knicks Struggle With Defensive Rotations Against The Hawks
November 28th, 2010

The New York Knicks seemed at least a second late on most of their rotations and closeouts against the Atlanta Hawks yesterday afternoon. This was a major reason why the Knicks ended up losing the game by nine points. I think Jamal Crawford’s dagger that extended the Hawks’ lead to 15 points with about 4:30 left does a good job of showing what the Knicks did wrong the entire game:

111.jpg

Here, the Knicks were double teaming Joe Johnson as he tried to make a move in the post. Initially, this is a very good double team. The Knicks’ do a good job of trapping Johnson, not allowing him to turn an face the basket. The rest of the Knicks do a good job of zoning off the rest of the court, giving up the skip pass to Mo Evans. This is the correct pass to give up, because if Joe Johnson makes the cross-court pass, it allows the Knicks to recover easily.

29.jpg

Because of the strong double team, Joe Johnson is forced to dribble the ball out towards the three point line so he can get a clean pass off. Johnson is passing the ball off to Crawford, who had to step out 40 feet away from the basket to give Johnson a passing lane. The Knicks are playing the rotation to be Felton closing out to Evans as Wilson Chandler returns to Crawford.

However, instead of closing out to Crawford, Chandler runs straight to the top of the key as if he doesn’t know his intended rotation.

As Jamal Crawford makes the catch, the first thing to notice is how far away he is from the basket. Crawford is nearly at halfcourt, a good 40 to 45 feet away from the basket. With just 5 seconds left on the shot-clock, this is a win for the Knicks because a defender should be able to recover to Crawford in time before he gets into scoring position.

Nobody rotates over to Crawford however, and he is able to walk into a wide open three that he knocks down easily. Here is the play in real time:

I would be on !++#$%* cloud 9 if Jamal was to come back.

I knew we were going to lose that game yesterday, but we can't turn those losses into streaks. The fire needs to be lit after every loss to avoid those 4,5,6 game losing streaks.

In my last year at St. John's one of the editors at The Torch told me they went back to using "SJU" in the paper since that was the abbreviation more of the students were familiar with.  But I think the school in general still wants to use "STJ" as its abbreviation.

Maybe the Knicks can win it as they will dedicate this game to two of our fallen brothers.

Amar'e Stoudemire has 20 points. Chandler and Gallinari look good. The best part is that Douglas hasn't played yet. Is he hurt? I may dislike him, but I don't want to see Knicks players getting hurt include Curry. lol

I dont know about you guys, but I really hate the way we are playing. everyone out of control, no scheme to the game or gameplan. I just seems like some pick up game with guys who don't know each other.

IMO we look like we wouldnt even be able to hang around with ANY of the upper echelon teams in a game. Everything seems so disorganized today. I don't know what's going on. Yeah I know we are in this game but I don't like what I'm seeing.

We suck without Turiaf. it's not that he's that good, it's just this team changes drastically without a 2nd competent big.
