Your optimism - I want it.

We still don't have enough talent to win 40 games. Wouldn't be surprised if we scratch the 32 win mark.
I gotta disagree.  These are all high character, multi-skill players who can all defend.

Not that it matters much, but take it for what it's worth...I played with these dudes for the past 2 days on 2K16 and I was shocked

.  Grant can defend and take his man off the dribble easily.  Porzingis can stay with any forward or guard on the pick and roll, and he was swatting everyone's shot.  The team defense was on point.  I see this being the case this season.  My only concern is offensively lacking in perimeter shooting. It would be nice to have another 3pt sniper on the team, and hopefully they can pick one up at some point this season.

im hoping for a 40 win team... like i said i hope it happens but dont expect it... 30-35 wins is my expections and wouldnt be surprised if we went that route... i just feel this team has better team defense than last year with all the guys we picked up this summer..and fisher has more experience and it showed in the last month when the offense was clicking even with scrubs..phil will help the team a lot with his input on the team too... i see this team is similar to iverson and the sixers where you had 1 really good player and great defense but the latter is what needs work :lol

Quotes from Knicks Media Day

Melo, on what he thought of Porzingis at No. 4: "We got him. What I think abt him is kind of irrelevant." Says he supported the pick, though

Chris Herring ‏@HerringWSJ · 45m45 minutes ago
Melo: "I'm pretty sure I'll be at the 4 this season." Says the makeup of the team makes him feel that way. Interesting.

Melo, on whether he'll be a more vocal leader this year: "That's just not who I am."

Chris Herring ‏@HerringWSJ · 40m40 minutes ago
Melo: "I think Phil still believes in me. And that goes without saying, bc I'm still here."

Chris Herring ‏@HerringWSJ · 37m37 minutes ago
Afflalo: "I loved him as a teammate. He just makes the game so much easier [for everyone else]."

Calderon says he and several Knick teammates have been working out together for past 3 weeks or so.

Chris Herring ‏@HerringWSJ · 27m27 minutes ago
Calderon says start of this year shouldn't be as rocky on offensive end since he and several others know the triangle at this point.

Porzingis said he and Melo played 1-on-1 games against each other for a week straight. I hope they took at least one break, lol

Chris Herring ‏@HerringWSJ · 17m17 minutes ago
Porzingis said he asks Melo how he's able to pull off certain moves on offense

Chris Herring ‏@HerringWSJ · 14m14 minutes ago
Porzingis said he obviously needs to continue to get stronger, but he suggested that it's reasonable to expect he'll play some C this season

Chris Herring ‏@HerringWSJ · 12m12 minutes ago
Porzingis, asked if he beat Melo in one-on-one games. Grins big as hell. "I won a few times. But he's better. He won more."

Chris Herring ‏@HerringWSJ · 12m12 minutes ago
Porzingis said he and Melo played games to 5 points. Two dribbles allowed. Make it, take it. I want video, dammit.

Someone asks Vujacic, two questions in: "Are you gonna be recruiting your good friend Kobe Bryant to the Knicks?" This is all Phil's fault

Chris Herring ‏@HerringWSJ · 8m8 minutes ago
Vujacic said he ended up in Europe in part bc he was impatient during the lockout, and wanted to play right away. Took awhile to get back

I respect this response.

We need that vocal leader tho

Melo's deep playoff run with the Nuggets only came when Chauncey was around

Maybe explains more why it was important that season we had J Kidd, Sheed, and co.

If Melo isn't vocal, fisher isn't that guy, I wonder who can be that dude during the rough points of the season.

Oh and I like how someone posts "we have actual NBA players this season," then immediately we see pics of Langston Galloway, Cleanthony Early, Derrick Williams, and Sasha Vujacic :rollin

Supposedly Caldo is pretty vocal >D

No high expectations at all. I'm just excited to see Lopez in the triangle and how Porzingis develops.

It's time people stop expecting/wanting Melo to be something he's not and let him be who he is. A scorer that would rather keep to himself and lead by example than fire up a locker room.

yeah Melo was never a "vocal" leader

i don't expect him to change at 30 years old & 12 years into a HoF career

Cavs
Heat
Raptors
Hawks
Bucks
Wizards

These teams are pretty much guaranteed a playoff spot barring injuries. Last two spots up for grabs really.

Forgot we signed Fetty Wap :{

Knicks should have worn those white throwbacks for media day :smokin
