really? i mean hes ok, but not 18 mil worth :x
Shump is making 10 mill a year and he's not even half the player Batum is. Whether it makes sense or not, NBA contracts are now in this territory. A good to great player is gonna get at least 18 a year. A bad one will get 8.

i mean i knew the cap going up was gonna increase the players salaries overall, but damn. now we're gonna have B grade players making what the tier 1 players make. that makes melo's contract seem like a bargain :rolleyes

Exactly why it's stupid to want Melo traded for peanuts.

Even if cap wasn't going up... Batum would still clear $15mil in the offseason.

He's an extremely valuable player.

Also Enes Kanter makes $17.5mil a year. Reggie Jackson $16mil. Market has been set

I think Rambis will be back as an assistant due to his relationship w/ Phil & knowledge of the triangle.

Did you really ask about Dwight Howard?

He didn't know how deep that question would run.

i think both were overpaid honestly. i mean i get that some players get overpaid, but now it seems like all will :rolleyes

i wonder if the rookie contracts will go up also

JRS is correct. The days where $18M/yr were given to above average all-star caliber players has been long gone. With the eminent money coming from the cable deals, players salaries has canonized into an uncharted enclave.

If we have the chance to sign Batum, I think it would be in our best interest to do so. Quite frankly, despite the awful season we had I still believe we're 1-2 pieces away from being competitive.

This morning made me realize why I hate Knicks fans so much. Felton was averaging 9/3/3, has a good game against OKC's swiss cheese defense and "You see! we got rid of him!"

******* hate these people.

Carlisle got the best out of Felton.

Also, is our goal just the playoffs? We need to make a splash at this point. Role players will only get u so far.

To be fair, we put a lot of responsibilities on his shoulders. Not only did we expect him to score, but he had to go up against some of the most vicious PG's on a nightly basis with little to no help defense. He was not in the best of situations here in New York.

.

Carlisle is getting the most out of him. He's also given him a new lease in the NBA. He's put in a position to succeed. Good for him, because he's had many solid years in the NBA.

I also do not subscribe to the contentus of just making it to the playoffs. We need to strive for greater aspirations.

id still rather have felton than caldo :lol

Calderon has been a better offensive player for us than Raymond.

Better leader as well.
