Blatt's trash imo.

Cleveland's offense was painfully boring and predictable under him and he doesn't seem to muster an ounce of respect or motivation, with players.

Yea, he went along w/ Thibs

Rough call imo. How much of a cancer was lebron? If he shot down Blatt instantly, I can see why no player would respond to him.

Marbury made it out of that situation better than everyone. Who would've thought?

It's become evidently clear within the past 2-3 seasons that Marbury did come out as the "winner" from the messy situation post D'Antoni. He's not only resurrected his career, but he seems to be enjoying his life much more than when he was in New York. I've learned over the years, albeit brief from my time here on Earth, there's more to life than monetary success. There's something to be said about the intrinsic value of self-worth and personal happiness. Marbury has seized the opportunity and done what many fear to do--live life.

Kudos to him for it.

Scott Layden was an inexperienced executive during that period of time in his career. There were a lot of mistakes to be made, especially for someone in his position. He wasn't properly groomed for the role, and was "handed the keys" way too prematurely. He basically brought in whatever practices he picked up in his time in Utah before coming to New York.

Since then, he's had the fortuitous opportunity to sort of do things the right way. Being in Minnesota with Thibs will be good for him. I'm confident things will turn out much differently than the past.

Wouldn't say it was painfully boring.

Cleveland's recent "success" is more accredited to a function of the players finally "gelling" after many months of playing together. Only glaring difference I see in their offense is the utilization of the 3-ball at a higher rate. It should be forewarned though that they're making a lot of tough shots, and I have my reservations on whether this can be a consistent thing going deeper into the playoffs.

If there's something being a Knicks fan in recent years has taught us, is that you live and die by the 3. Unless you're Steph Curry and Warriors :lol

Blatt wasn't allowed to coach in Cleveland, had to follow LeBron's orders. Hard to do your job when the best player in the league purposefully goes out of his way to emasculate you time and time again.

At least Spoelstra had Pat and D-Wade backing him. That alone was enough to keep him safe.

Blatt got a raw deal in Cleveland. Coached a team he never even expected to coach, then gets fired w/ the best record in the conference.

There's definitely a huge difference in the way Lue is using K. Love and how Blatt used him.

Love was almost exclusively a spot up 3 point shooter under Blatt, which is extremely ridiculous when you think about it. I've always saw that as a huge indictment on him as a coach.

Love has been slashing and posting up like crazy under Lue, which is what he did in Minnesota. He's been much more comfortable and effective because of it and their team is starting to gel as a result.

If his usage of Love is any indication of how he'll be utilizing our 7 foot, 3 point specialist....I'm good.

I might actually prefer Rambis over Blatt, dead serious. Blatt is not made for situations like this. He'd be cool for a super young team like the sixers but I saw enough in cleveland. he looked lost on the sidelines and his utilization of Love was comical

I feel like he wasn't allowed to coach in Cleveland. You've got to think that the situation there is pretty toxic. LeBron is signing one year deals, so he has Dan Gilbert by the nutsack. I can't help but believe LeBron gets the final say on most decisions.

On top of that Blatt didn't come off as a bad coach, he just seemed undermined. He lost the players. Hard to have respect of the players when your best player is used to steamrolling coaches.

He couldn't handle one man, how is he gonna handle NY? **** Blatt. Don't want him. If we do sign him, I think Carmelo bounces.

The main reason I want Blatt is because he's not Kurt Rambis.

Also, I agree with everything HTTB said.

he was definitely undermined but his whole demeanor and the way he went about it was also off to me. i just feel like NY will eat him up. I said this before, I think if he got the job he might try to come in here and be a tough guy to reverse his reputation, which he actually is if you ever watched footage of him coaching internationally, hes a rough stern guy, but thats not going to mesh well here. Melo isnt about to bow down to anybody at this point, especially not the guy one of his best friends *****ed out for a year and a half.

and I know we all make mistakes, but that time out fiasco Lue saved him from was just insane. and having James inbound, I mean c'mon. he would have Melo inbounding on that play here. thats just crazy. another high profile job is not a good look for him, unless its the Lakers actually cause they're young and talented

Personally, I'm not too worried about what Melo wants in a coach. At this point in his career he should be looking at himself in the mirror and be willing to take a stap back and let the coach coach...thats IF he respects Blatt, and I'm not sure he would.

But we need to go young anyway. Melo can go. I love him. Been a fan since his first year, but he can go win somewhere else.

What are we thinking when we're worrying about the pride of the best player on a 32-50 team. **** Melo's feelings.

I dont think anyones worried about his pride, just being realistic. if hes still on the team, chances are its not gonna work with a coach like Blatt. I've been saying since mid season Melo has to be flipped, but I also acknowledge the point that unless we replace his production, Porzingis wont be able to develop when hes getting triple teamed every night, which is exactly why he said he needs Melo here.

That makes a lot of sense. Never really considered it that way. That's probably why KP has been basically begging Melo to stay his big brother publicly. If Melo goes...

which would definitely stunt his growth.

So yeah, you've kinda convinced me.
