Gordon did impress me but I was right about that game overall. Only got interesting in the 4th. Russy probably let the rose comparisons get to his head.

Would've rather watched the Warriors win.

If the Mavs do blow it up, send Dirk the Knicks way
laugh.gif
I remember I said the Mavs are that team that just shows up to the playoffs just so elite teams that have what it takes have a team to beat on their way to the west semis or WCF and are never taken seriously but was ignored cuz I was a Knicks fan

Losing to a team they crushed a few weeks ago. Now we blowing it up.

Melo on SNL was pretty funny

It's really too bad, earlier in the year, before Beaubois was back, and Caron was healthy, people were talking like we might actually make noise in the Playoffs.

I don't know. We could blow it up, but is it worth it just to end up like a team like the Pistons?

In all honesty, if we blow it up, we try and keep Dirk, and go after someone like Deron Williams, or at least of that caliber.

Honestly though, this team right now and from earlier in the season? Night and day.

When Caron and Dirk went down, that pretty much killed our season. We went back to our old jumpshooting ways, and we lost our tenacity on defense.

Well, play out the rest of the season, hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

I had stopped watching after we gave up the foul on Dorell. He said it wasn't serious.

But more on the point I was talking about earlier. Unless we can score a player like Durant or Rose while rebuilding, I don't see why we should blow it up and get rid of EVERYONE.

I'm all for shaking it up.

Keep Dirk, Tyson, and quite frankly Barea. He'll be cheap as hell and be a fine second PG behind whoever we can get.

What's *%***# is that Jason Kidd won't be traded. I can pretty much guarantee it. His ties with Dallas pretty much makes it seem like he's going to retire a Maverick.

We should have sold high on Beaubois, get SOMETHING for him. I wish we would have put all our chips on the table and got Brand/Iguodala, but now that's just a thing of the past.

if they are gonna blow everything up dirk has to go man... hes been with that franchise forever and best buds with cuban. The least cuban should do if hes gonna rebuild is send dirk to a contender where he could have a chance at winning a championship. then again if you are trading him to a contender you wont get nothing back worth keeping...

mavs should have set it up so they could land both deron williams and blake griffin in the future.

i wanna know how the hell miami is gonna get rid of bosh with that huge contract?
laugh.gif
dude was talking about if he was gonna leave toronto he would leave to a team where he was the man and number 1 option but instead let 2 guys talk him into going to miami where he is the third option. to top it off everybody and their momma is making him into the scapegoat and blaming him for everything when its a team game.

if he were the number 1 or 2 option on a team i bet he would play a helluva lot better...

at this ATG dude. Trying so hard make himself look right only to have the clippers come back and win. We get it; you don't like the clippers or Blake Griffin.

:rolling at calling the clippers sorry but wanting to watch the 33-win warriors.

It's not that Bosh plays bad, but he just doesn't have the inflated stats he would if he were the #1 option.

If we trade Dirk, there's no way we get equal return for him, not even in future draft stock. No team is going to give up a star we'd want. Trading Dirk ain't happening. Dude will ride out his career as a Maverick.

It's a pipe dream, and I know it'd accomplish nothing, but I'd like to see the Mavs re-acquire Nash and have those two guys retire together.

im pretty sure bosh knew that he couldnt carry a team.... amare is the one that wanted to be the man and the #1 option.... we aint gonna get rid of bosh, ever since he demanded the ball he has been putting in work in the post... 22/9 in his last 10 games...

Mavs are okay, no need to panic and ship everybody outta town.

Steal a game or 2 in the playoffs and anything is possible, they play the games for a reason.

Word to that old Boston team gettin to the finals or that Kobe/Lebron faceoff that never happened.

Stop actin like we KNOW how everything will play out.

They are not ok.

I wanted them to blow it up before the start of the season. Teams don't realize the sooner they blow it up, the quicker they can get back on track. But, I'm sure Dallas will wait another 2 years before they do anything.
There is no way you can compare this year's Mavs team to that Boston team.  They just aren't built for the post-season. Who are they going to beat out West? Even if they make it to the WCF, they won't be LA in a 7-game series.

I know they play the games for a reason, but in that case you can say that about any team having a shot in the playoffs. Realistically, you know its not true though.

Cuban would never "blow it up". He'll keep his team forever in mediocrity; nothing more, nothing less. No offense.

And last year, Barea HAD to go, now its Bouasdkasjdaskklj? (ignore my horrendous spelling please). You're hilarious JA

Nobody wants to see the Warriors and the soft %#+ Mavs

Warriors have been in way more exciting games than the sorry $%* Clippers. Yeah, the Mavs are soft but watching them possibly be in a tough game with the Warriors is better than a couple nice dunks by Blake and then Durant/Westbrook blowing them out.
So what happened last night?

BHZ its way too soon to hit the reset button, you're talking about a 2/3 seed in the western conference.

You can't be a top team in the west and be in a terrible position. Best chance is to let Dirk & Co. keep hacking away at it and hope they catch a few breaks and get to the finals. There is no science to this rebuilding thing, so don't be in such a rush to get there and end up like NJ/Brooklyn nets.

Might as well get rid of 75% of the league if its ok to dismantle 50 win perennial playoff teams because they aren't a LOCK for the finals.

Talk about all or nothing, wow.

The current Mavs squad (very) vaguely reminds me of how the 03-05 Kings were......

All im saying is that theyve been like this for how long? Almost a decade. When they made it to the Finals in 06, i could see them holding on 3 more years to see how it plays out. At this point, they are older and teams are getting stronger.

Would you bet your life savings that Dallas could beat any of the seeds 5-8 when all the teams are healthy?

I would say they dont have to blow it up, but Cuban can never acquire a legit star to play beside Dirk. Its always a guy that was either a borderline allstar in his prime with the exception of Kidd who is well out of his prime. Butler was a nice pick up, but you cant get Butler when Kobe gets Pau.

They have a deep team with no other star player outside of Dirk. They do have some good players, just not good enough to put them over the top. Trade a few of those guys for someone who will. Easier said than done, but thats what they gonna have to do.

I found it funny the one year the Mavs needed to make a mid-season trade, they didn't.

Not done yet?
Jerry Sloan declared "I'm not looking for another job" when he resigned in February as Utah's coach after 23 seasons there, but he hasn't necessarily retired for good.

Sloan would listen if another team approached him, according to a source who has spoken to Sloan recently, and would seriously consider the right situation. But he won't actively seek another job or have anyone campaign for him. Almost alone among NBA coaches, Sloan, who turned 69 a week ago, doesn't have an agent.
