Probably because some people can't just simply enjoy Kobe for what he is, and always feel the need to "artificially enhance" his legend.

Exactly some of these ppl need to go find they fathers ah something, i mean its getting ridiculous. Kobe made a good play and played a helluva game period. I mean he won mvp and ppl still cant get enough. I mean i never got how ppl can be so absorbed and obsessed over another man, esp ppl who are grown. I can see 5 y/o a lil kid ah something but its grown a&% men in here like sucking the skin offa dude jawn. They are bball players man, folks acting like LeBron/Kobe etc cured cnacer solved world hunger ended sexism,racism,etc..

in order to get dunked on/over you have to be doing just that...the defensive player has to be in front of you

Right, because the ESPN anchors and Hollinger are the authority on what it means to get dunked on.  Sure.  I doubt Hollinger's ever dunked a basketball in his life, even on an 8 foot rim. 

And, by the way, I have nothing invested in this debate at all.  I'm niether a LeBron or Kobe fan.  I'd say that particular play did not involve anyone getting dunked on if it were between any two players in the entire league.
