Paul George is eligible for an extension with the Indiana Pacers through Oct. 31.
The Pacers plan to make George a "major" offer.
George, a native of the Los Angeles area, could be a target of the Los Angeles Lakers in 2014 if he becomes a restricted free agent.
"Everywhere I go [in L.A.] they say, 'We want you here. Don't sign with the Pacers,' " George said. "I hear that constantly. It's getting a little repetitive … but I'm getting used to it.
"I understand it. I can't really be mad about it. It's a great feeling when people in the stands really want you."
George became an All-Star last season.
"I'm happy to be in Indiana," George said. "I'm happy to be where I am. If I was going to leave Indiana and come to the Lakers, it just wouldn't be a smart move for me. We got a great thing going right now."
A source told ESPN's Marc Stein that a max extension is a "foregone conclusion."

. Good for him though, he should stay and become that franchise. I would hate to see the Pacers fade into boliva after that showing they had in the playoffs

Pacers can still recover from losing George but I'm not sure they are going to. We gave the Lakers brand too much credit with Dwight and it didn't work. Plus the roster/coaching/GM situation is great in Indy compared to terrible in LA

So what exactly do the Pacers plan on doing with Granger? I thought for sure they'd try to trade him for a point guard or a two guard so Lance could come off the bench like he should be. Paul George is a SF, not a SG.

Golden state might mess around and have a lowkey good bench. Bazemore and green look damn good. This Ian Clark out of Belmont is also showing something. He should get a camp invite at the very least. Their foreign rookie also looks intriguing. On top of speights and Douglas.

^ Don't forget J. O'Neal. I've been very pleased with what our front office has done.
Also Harrison Barnes is the guy I would like to see moved to the 6th man role -- further strengthening our bench. Jackson has said he hasn't decided yet, but I think that would make the most sense.

Don't forget Barnes is also coming off the bench. Plus Ezeli when he comes back from injury.
And I really wonder how the Pacers will play with Granger now that Hibbert and Paul George have established themselves. I hope it makes the team even better and not mess up chemistry.

Looks like Paul George took Grangers no.1 option throne in Indy.
I was one of the NT'ers that was confused on why Nate wasn't deserving of a second sting with Chicago after helping them takeout the Nets in the first round and winning a game against Miami. Chicago front office must really think highly of Teague and Hinrich, or they had this plan to let Nate go all along. I personally think Nate Robby is the goods
