If Cutler is your backup and you have a solid QB in front of him then yea.
Many people don't even carry a backup QB. I rarely do... So if you need a WR, especially in PPR then that's a fine trade.

9 times out of 10 I'd roll with Alshon...but I know how weak my Raiders are at CB, and the Raiders DLine is getting absolutely no pressure right now

on the surface im leaning yes though
standard - alshon
ppr - edelman
both teams could end up playing with a lead and choose to pound the rock, but alshon is more likely to get a TD
