OFFICIAL 2015 FANTASY FOOTBALL THREAD

I think Graham could have a good year but its also completely possible that he does next to nothing except get double coverage, open running lanes and allow others to get the ball. Which for the Seahawks would be great but not for the FF world.

This year I think Im going WR/WR at the start of the draft. I like the consistency and security you get with big name receivers like a Dez and Jordy pairing. Plus I have faith in some of the 3+ round rbs, Gordon, Hyde, Randle, Forsett.

For those of you that are asking about going WR or RB for the first two rounds, here's my advice...

When drafting your first two players, I've come to the conclusion that it doesn't matter what position they are...as long as you are picking the safest guys. As long as it is RB/WR/Rodgers/Gronk...pick the guys that you think are the safest picks.

There was a stat from a couple years ago that a whopping amount of FF players that had their first two round picks be successful made the playoffs. Basically what I am saying is don't take risks in the first two rounds. So...

Le'Veon Bell? Unless his suspension is reduced, I say no.

Matt Forte? Different coach/offense? I say no.

DeMarco Murray or LeSean McCoy? I mean, are you REALLY sure about them in their new offenses?

OBJ? Cruz is back, Vereen is there...you really think he's going to produce like he did last year?

Take the safer guys, guys that do it year after year...which, IMO, are...

Adrian Peterson (I know he missed a year last year) ...but remember the year before that? And the year before that? And the year before that?

Jamaal Charles

Marshawn Lynch

Eddie Lacy

Dez Bryant

D Thomas

Antonio Brown

Just my opinion.

Oh, and if you take a D before the second-to-last round and a K before the last round...

Regarding Beckham Jr repeating his '14.

I think that while his per game avg takes a small hit, overall, with four more games for him to play, he'll likely improve on his overall 2014 line of 91/1305/12.

For a few reasons.

First, Cruz is coming off a torn patellar tendon. I challenge you to name one guy who has went on to return to previous form after suffering this injury. It just really doesn't happen. Cruz is coming along well but Randle had two massive games to end the year last year (weeks 15 and 16, back to back 6 reception 130+ yard games), if anything Randle continues to build on that.

And if Cruz can overcome injury, that's better for Beckham Jr. Listen the Giants are going to go 3-wide with healthy Cruz and that means less bracket coverage (which Beckham still consistently burned last year). The more productive other receivers are, the more space it gives Beckham Jr to operate.

Lastly, this is Eli's 2nd year in the McAdoo offense. Before McAdoo he played his entire career under Kevin "Kill Drive" Gilbride, who literally would telegraph plays to the opposing defense. Dude was monotonic as a play caller and his system became antiquated.

Beckham Jr and Eli go way, way back guys. I'm talking beyond just off-season practices at Duke. I'm talking backyard football with the Manning family. The kid grew up around that family, he played High School ball with Cooper Manning in Louisiana.

The Manning's pretty much groomed this boy to be a receiver. You can't get rapport like that. 2014 was no fluke, the Giants taking Beckham Jr was no fluke, they knew and Eli knew, exactly who they were taking.

There's not one compelling argument I've heard as to why Beckham Jr can't continue to be consistently great. There's really no reason he can't have a historic 2015 season, none whatsoever.

I get it, he had the greatest rookie season we've seen from a receiver since Randy Moss. Funny thing about transcendent talents, they just get better.

That's what I'm going to do also. Seems like a good move if you wind up with two elite WR's.

definitely taking Odell if i can...there's been talk of him going in the 1st in my league tho 8o

@ProFootballTalk: Kubiak "really excited" about Latimer's role in Broncos' offense http://t.co/NyUvrIWAHV

i'm gonna be targeting Latimer in the later rounds. fantasy sports are all about risk/reward...Latimer is a low risk/high reward pick in round 12+ imo

Some great dialogue in here over the past few days :hat. My favorite thread on NT year after year.

love Jeremy Hill this year, gonna try to get him as my RB2

i don't trust CJ Anderson enough to draft him....that Broncos OL is a mess.

Forsett's age concerns me but he hasn't had the workload of a normal 30 year old RB, i'd take a chance on him

Rex is gonna give McCoy a ton of carries, i'm not worried about the other RB's in Buffalo taking carries from him like in Philly.
I'm with you man on Hill. I feel like he's really safe. I'm hoping to land a top 3 pick to take Lacy #1 and Hill #2 (10 team league)

As far as the RB v WR thing, honestly I see it like just being adaptable to what the other owners do during the live draft. I don't think I'm going to go into it thinking I need to take this position here and that position there

In simulations I've ended up with Lacy, Hill (#1 and #2 picks) and like a Cobb and KBJ. I'd take that

No thanks.

In that offense, with Lynch, with Wilson running around not having time to throw, I don't like the fit. I wouldn't take him unless he drops.

I feel the same way. I think I am just going to stay away from him.

I don't think I am touching Hyde

He gets injured, their line sucks, and Reggie Bush is there too

I'd stay away from Joique bell

Backfield might be his initially but I feel like before seasons over, he will be backup to Abdullah

Also regarding graham, I think his yardage will go down but he should still be a red zone target
If he's available in the 3rd I would take him but it's a gamble either way

Detroit really likes Abdullah and Reddick is there also

Probably RBBC all year

Draft Beckham Jr.
Great points. I love Eli this year as well.

I'm not saying don't draft OBJ, I just personally wouldn't draft him above Dez, DT, AB due to the fact that Cruz and Vereen are both going to get a lot of action.

@TVobach  I probably wouldnt draft ODB that early but he is my keeper for this year. 12th round pick. I am a bit worried about his hammy so if he continues to be hurt then i might keep Luck instead.

When i get D Thomas, D Bryant for my first two picks and then take RBs with the next three my team winds up pretty stacked overall. Being the 12th pick usually the only RB that I love is Hill.

Have to love being able to mock. It really allows you to plan.

This is my first year on this thread.

Good to know there is Sit/Start chat on sunday morning.

I know its early but me and my boys are doing a 12 team .5 ppr league..$100 entry first place $900 runner up $200 third place $100.. We need 4 more people if anyone is interested.

What are you guys top 5 overall picks? Mines are

1. Lacy
2. Charles
3. AP
4. Lynch
5. Bell

I started to think about it and am I trippin having Lacy so high?

i plan on taking lacy first overall if i have that pick

i have 0 interest in AP. aside from him being a deadbeat, i dont trust him with a year off. rather just avoid that lowlife completely and if he does well, great, not doing it for me.
