We sacrifice Waiters for Hayward, that's how. No brainer IMO
JJ's getting 13-14+, you're sacrificing Waiters and JJ in that scenario and Hayward would have to be sold on Heat's core outside of them unless a trade or promise is made prior. I don't buy it

Rose is absolutely terrible now.  People really don't understand.

Horrible defender.  Horrible court vision.  Bad shooter.  Inefficient scorer.  Makes his teammates worse and ruins the offense.  Can only drive full speed to the basket but isn't as athletic anymore.  Doesn't do anything else well.  Prone to crazy/childish antics on and off the court.

Coincidentally nice quote on this from Shea Sherrano's article today:

"Usually when I’m working on an article like this I’ll talk to a bunch of different people about a bunch of different things. One of those people is Sports-Reference’s Mike Lynch, who, if we can pretend for a moment like this is The Big Shortis my quant. He’s my numbers guy. He always has some remarkable stat or numerical observation that I’m not smart enough to figure out on my own. When I asked him about Derrick Rose, though, he didn’t even bother to offer up a stat. He just said that Derrick Rose needs to be sent “to a sub-basement somewhere.” So Rose is getting demoted. We’re all just going to agree to send him down to a basement somewhere and hopefully, after a while of his not receiving any checks, things will just sort of work themselves out naturally."

I do.

I can assure you that James Johnson and Dion Waiters aren't going to be integral parts of Pat Riley's sales pitch to Gordon Hayward. JJ and Waiters were stopgaps. Riley isn't building around them. Let them go off and get their bags elsewhere. Riley is more ambitious.

That's not the part I'm not buying, it's Hayward choosing to join a core of Whiteside/Dragic over his other options and Riley giving him 30 M just to stay under the watchful eye's of Lebron

Unless big trades are made, nah

I'm a longtime Celtics fan, Hayward is not the answer to beat the Cavs

I agree

Hayward won't change much at all IMO

I can understand wanting to have him, more fire power but the team overall won't be much better. look at the rest of the starters excluding IT and maybe Bradley. Hordford is overrated IMO and a liability

He stays in Utah and he's under the watchful eyes of GSW
He goes to Boston and he's still under the watchful eyes of LeBron

Boston's probably a lot closer to challenging either of those teams than Heat are with Whiteside/Dragic/Hayward. Heat last year were a combination of their depth and not just Dragic/Whiteside, losing JJ/Waiters would be a big blow to getting a big FA... Nonetheless Hayward. He has better options and even more money available to him in Utah

Valid points, we'll see how this unfolds. I'm optimistic that Riley will make a splash this offseason, be it Hayward or someone else.

I think they either make a big Whiteside centered trade for a star or try to get everyone back and add a cheap SF/PF or C when Reed gets 6-8 M's from someone. I'd like to see if Heat would have a chance to trade the 14th+ filler to Boston for Crowder if they get Hayward but that's a reach. Just hope they don't do anything crazy and draft well

I understand you and many don't like Rose. What you posted of your opinion isn't entirely true. Some are true and some are entirely off. To the least, to say he isn't athletic anymore is blasphemy [emoji]128514[/emoji]
