Can't believe the corrupt Judge (Adelaide Byrd) was supposed to be a judge in UFC 216.
I hope judges like these get exposed in the UFC. So Dana can expose the judge and that Judge will never work as a professional combat sports judge again.

Never really see these types of situations in MMA though. I can't even think of one. Controversial close fights yes, but straight up crooked judging, not that I can think of.
Which suggests that most of these crooked decisions come from boxing promoters paying off judges, because if it was the casinos or random high rollers then you'd see it more often on the MMA side too since they have the same state appointed judges.

This isn't going to mean much, because I can't think of any examples offhand, but I'm almost certain it has happened in MMA fights. Just not fights of this magnitude and the fact that MMA has far less rounds makes the score discrepancies less obvious.
But I can recall Rogan being very critical of the judges on a few occasions.

Yeah it's definitely possible, but some of these boxing decisions are so damn flagrant its ridiculous. 118-110 is the scorecard equivalent of "all y'all can suck my ****", and the executive director was still defending her. And that's far from the first one. And alot of people (like me) weren't even surprised.
But yeah I wouldn't doubt it could've happened in MMA, maybe they're just not as bold with it.

In MMA, the biggest stars have been KTFO several times before. Records are not as protected like in boxing.

The diego sanchez and leonard garcia fights where they get used as a punching bags and still get the decision. Those judges aren't getting paid off though, they just absolutely suck.

That has nothing to do with it. Hard to see a score as lopsided when fights are only 3-5 rounds, you cant get much discrepancy there. Also with so many different ways to score, a few punches = a takedown and position down. Also there have still been times where judges have messed up. It didnt ruin the fight but Rogan and White have blasted officials before.
This is the first time you've heard a sanctioning body comment and say someone had an off night. Max Kellerman and others have repeatedly said over the years the judges should have to answer questions the same way the fighters do

So you basically just said MMA is sometimes harder to judge because there's more criteria and there's been times the judges messed up because of it, which I completely agree with. And that actually only proves my point even more, because you're basically saying even when there are bad decisions in MMA it's because it's harder to judge, not because of corruption. So it seems like we're agreeing? Not sure what you mean by that has nothing to do with it
