Official 2017 Knicks Offseason thread, Phil Jackson gone

Yeah I'm not down with none of this Melo on the Cavs talk. Just a sign of how bad it's got for Knicks fans.

Rather see Melo on the Spurs or Warriors if he's leaving.

Which I don't think he is at all.
(gettin my quote game up) Last week that was a fantasy, what happened :lol

Been busy with homework and studying so I missed the last couple days. Just saw the end of that Suns game... :rollin :{

floodarea floodarea please tell me you changed that avy. 8o

I like Hernangomez but I don't think he's a starter cause he is so challenged laterally.

Think his destiny is an Enes Kanter 6th man type who will come in and destroy second units.

I really want J. Issac or Markanned. Those are perfects fits at the 4 spot next to KP.

Don't think we are going to be in a position to grab Ball or Fultz and I'm luke-warm on the Fox/Smith.

Due to the new CBA no superstar or perennial all star is gonna come here via free agency. Only way we can become a championship caliber team is through the draft and absolutely have to hit with essentially all our picks. Top 8 pick has to become an all star and our second round pick(s) have to be key role players with potential out the gate like a Hernangomez.

Markannen is gonna be a stud but in this pick and roll guard dominant league of today you need a stud ball handler. If we're in a position to pick either a smith, fox, or Markannen I'm taking one of the PG's.

Phil isn't even gonna attempt to move Noah. His ego is too big for him to admit he made that big a mistake

I hear you we are solely lacking on guards, I just think Markannen is a sure thing.

Him and KP on the perimeter dotting eyes would make a guard's life so much easier eventually as the lane to the rim would be completely open. Could be the splash brother but big man version.

Having 2 7 footers that could shoot out to 3pt range would be crazy. Can't really see Markkanen being an option though unless we get rid of Noah.

The twin towers thing, even if both players can shoot, doesn't work unless one of them can move like Giannis. A small front court that can play physical but still rotate out to the perimeter on defense...that's what's needed in today's nba

So apparently we're going to go hard after Ricky Rubio around the trade deadline hmmmmm.

I used to love Rubio but I would expect we would all be clamoring to get rid of him by either this April or next November...

That said -- Rose for Rubio/T-Jones works and I would do that.

Knicks get (2) decent true-PGs that they could use for next year (or next few years).

It would take pressure off us having to absolutely find a PG via the draft and maybe allow us to draft a wing defender like the Indiana kid or god help my heart J-Jackson.

We'd basically be improving our D at 2 positions and it's the D where we need most improvement with this team.

Rubio is cheaper & better than any FA PG out there.

Don't really think Minny would want Rose tho. We'll see what happens.

Always loved Rubio. Plays defense and can get you 10 assists any given night. Huge weakness as a shooter, but i'll take it. He'd be a crowd favorite here. He wont attempt 26 shots a night, miss every floater, try to be a hero, and go AWOL.

Exacly, we would have a pass first pg instead of a pass never pg. I would unload noaher or Blose for Rubio in a heartbeat.

He reminds me so much of Brandon Roy it's crazy. Too good of an isolation player/shooter combined with that much poise as a freshman is :x :eek

Rose isn't a good shooter either.

Major difference is Rubio's 1st thought is to create for others. Much better fit next to Porzingis, Melo, & Lee.

I'd like to see RB get more run at the point and Rose at the 2. The problem is I don't think the vets would allow RB to be a true pg, a floor general directing traffic and ****.
