Who is going to win the Big Ten this season?

You know I’m fine that that we didn’t get in, nor did I expect us to/think we should, but the one thing that pisses me off is last week they said teams 5-8 were comparable but then today when they put Bama in they said that Bama was “unequivocally better” than Ohio State. So how were we even, then go and win the big ten while Bama is at home, and now they are so much better?

Not to mention how the hell did USC not move up at all after winning their conference?

:smh:

Bama didn’t win their division, nor their conference but somehow are gonna have a chance to win a national title?

Makes a ton of sense.
Why play the regular season when your best win was..... Mississippi State? Lol

They want college football to be like college basketball.

There is a regular season that only serves to seed people for the post season. Conference championships are unimportant outside of in-rivalry bragging rights.

Playoff never should’ve been 4 teams...it’s dumb, it’s like no common sense is involved when structuring football ..from college to the nfl just dumb **** every where

Also auburn got they *** beat because we were simply the better team from the jump. It’s different game when scores aren’t been left on the field. Hell auburn shouldn’t have scored a point if the ref is calling the holding.

Just curious. Since y’all are the 3rd seed and would have you been the first team on the outside looking in, would you maintain that opinion? Or are you saying there should be more teams added to th playoffs?

No right or wrong, just curious of how solid your stance is.

I’ve seen the buckeyes left out two times in the fifth spot and I’m honestly okay with it being 4 teams for now. It sucks that a P5 champ will be left out each year but I almost think that there aren’t 8 teams that should get in every year. This was one of the years where it could’ve happened but let’s see it for a few more years

I like the one rep from each P5 conference champ, with 1 at larged decided by the committee, along with the seeding. That could have been an Alabama or even a UCF for that matter if they felt they were worthy enough.

Every conference gets at least one representive and a G5 has an opportunity to slide in some years, too. Not sure how that bracket works though ...

Off topic, looks like Gus is staying? https://247sports.com/Article/Gus-Malzahn-agrees-to-new-deal-contract-with-Auburn-Tigers-111672170

It already happen with lsu vs Bama. I don't see the problem. They are the best for that slot

Not while these boys aren't getting paid.

They'll justify it by pointing out that you can play up to 16 at the FCS level already. Hopefully when they do expand they'll at least stretch the season out another week and add a bye for everyone.

I think 6 is the next step.

I wouldn't mind them going to 6, but if it stays at 4 honestly I don't mind. We basically have at least a couple quarterfinal games almost every year with the conference championship games anyway.

People keep saying this and I think in an NCAA where every conference already plays a different number of in-league games and different OOC schedules (with some teams completely ducking a P5 or legitimate P5 opponent) it would be absurdly unfair to give two teams a bye while others have to face essentially quarterfinal play in games.

Imagine this: Alabama plays the same cake walk schedule they've had this year and again only loses one division game but doesn't make the conference championship. The committee this time decides to seed them as #1 or #2. So they play a soft schedule all year, letting them rest players in games, of which they only play 12, and then they get to rest for another month plus while their potential opponents are killing themselves in games number 13 and 14? They could play a team that has had to play 2 additional games than them against likely CFP caliber competition?

How does expanding to 6 teams seem fair in any way?

 You got a link?

Would you be able to search for it?
Did all the past content move over to this server? I believe those were the yuku days.
Oregon has crazy hype going into that 1st game and Boise beat the Brakes off them. Then the punch and chairs being thrown by the stands.
Was that Masoli at QB for Oregon?

Damn that was yuku I believe :{ it was Masoli :lol beat us the yr before I went to OkState

Committee gotta start punishing the SEC for scheduling that bye at the end of the year. Alabama should be playing Georgia in the regular season instead of Mercer:smh:

Oh by the way how about forcing Bama to play an actual road game besides an overrated LSU every other year.

Just told you. Every conference gets a rep. It's put up or shut up. No more your conference was slighted. To be fair, Alabama had #3 FSU at the beginning of the season. My team helped ruin their SOS. Conversely, Auburn's was #12, who oddly enough, played Mercer, too, and they're in the same division ... It's not like the teams pick and choose who their in conference opponents are. And as I stated previously, Saban mentioned if were up to him, it would only be P5 teams, playing P5 teams and that conference games should be expanded to avoid games vs teams like Mercer. He could have been lying, but he even mentioned Alabama couldn't find a team willing to play them. On the flip side, which one of the teams in here would have wanted to play Auburn's last month? Played #1 twice and then UGA again in a month's time frame?

Further, not that is matters outside of this season, but name a team willing to hit the field in an opener every year against a top shelf opponent like Alabama has? They've opened with FSU, USC, Michigan, Va Tech, West Virginia, Clemson since Saban has been there. Y'all make it sound like they're running from something when they're the gold standard of college football currently. Yeah, so their SoS wasn't the best this year, but the reality is, it wasn't that far off from some of the pack being considered for the CFP in spite of FSU's dumpster fire season. In fact, most of the teams in here would be in the washed club by game 4 if they were in the SEC West. I don't think Alabama is ducking anyone. And in regard to seeding, that's completely on the committee and a reason why Washington damn near had zero room for error this season, too. Besides, it would give good reason to put the at large bid in at 6, which would possible be Alabama in this year's scenario. So, they would have missed out on the conference CG, but they'd be making up for it with a quarterfinal vs. the #5 seed, which would have more than likely been USC.

So, to your point. What would you rather have? Your conference left out, or a team getting an extra game? I'm sure most would rather have a representative and a fighting chance.

Nobody was expecting FSU to go into the tank the way they did, was billed as a game of the century to start the season. Bama never usually has a problem with scheduling. Tricky Nicky even said he wants to go to Power 5 playing all other power 5 schools.

It's not just a Bama problem, every single team schedules cupcakes, Clemson, UGA, OU all have those type of games scheduled both this season and for the next few seasons. If anything a uniform 9 conference games schedule across the power 5 would be the best thing to do.
