That's my guy, flashy Friedman. Root for him as much as Jon Daniels.View media item 1213376
I'll leave this here.
Respectfully, that's a ripoff for Stanton. Two of your top-3 prospects, with Puig?! Puig doesn't have Stanton's raw power or plate approach, but he's better, rangier defensively. I don't like that package one bit for the Dodgers, that's how you deplete your farm system in one swift move.Puig for Stanton is a pipe dream, unless you incude Pederson, Lee and possibly Seager.
Puig is very raw, Stanton is already polished. They're both exciting in their very own right, Stanton is already a face of the franchise type player. Puig can get there, but he's not there yet.
I'm sure you can move Crawford, he has value, his problem is staying healthy. He misses two months out of the year, on average. I don't get the rush to hand over the job to Pederson, would love to have him coming off the bench and replacing Crawford when he's injured. He needs to earn it.
Ethier needs to be moved, bought out (aka released/DFA'd). There's no room for him and his bloated contract. I wish he brought something to the table, but he doesn't carry a glove worth talking about and he has the same platoon splits as Carl Crawford.
Starting OF next year should be Crawford (LF), Puig (CF) and Kemp (RF). That is a solid OF any way you slice it. Top it off by having Pederson and Van Slyke coming off the bench. I'm not the biggest fan of Crawford, but he earned his spot with solid, timely hitting in September.
Catcher and Shortstop need to be addressed. We don't have quality players at those positions, at least defensively at SS and both offensively and defensively at C. Yes, Ellis has a good rapport with the pitching staff, but he ain't cutting it. Russel Martin is available, bring him back.
Bullpen needs to be addressed and a 4th starter that is consistent. Haren will be a 5th starter unless he declines his player option... doubtful.
