I dont think people here understand that Dantoni turns scrubs into serviceable rotation players. He does it every year for every team he coaches. They'll be fine.

True, but that typically goes for his ball handlers and by extensions shooters. But we're mainly talking about losing two really good defenders.

Good defenders with shaky shots can benefit from a D'Antoni system, not the other way around.

There is no point in giving Capela some huge bag right now when they don't have to.

They'll find a couple guys to plug in on the wing and will be fine. Maybe just won't win as many regular season games.

I'm gonna withhold judgement until the deal for Capella is Done, but if he takes the qualifying offer this year there's a big chance he's Gone Next Offseason

To be fair This thread LOUDLY proclaimed for years how superstars don't care about L.A or the Lakers brand.

Been wondering this as well. Played for team USA a few years ago as well. Probably would not even be in consideration for that team right now. Seems like his style just got phased out completely of today's NBA.

How's MCW defense?

Has length so he should be able to switch, but he's a career 25% 3pt shooter. I don't think even D'Antoni's spacing can help with that.

To be fair This thread LOUDLY proclaimed for years how superstars don't care about L.A or the Lakers brand.

They were saying it 2 weeks ago bruh. And swore up and down he'd never come here without another star in place or on the way in the immediate aftermath. That was much of our trepidation based on his past behavior. And all of that has been put to bed early.

That's my main thing. Yea he wanted to be in LA but the Laker history, Magic, young core and future flexibility definitely played a role.

If we were in the same position we were in 2 or 3 years ago he's not coming.
