Meh. If you're good enough offensively, then your franchise will build around that. If you believe in his ceiling, then him not being able to guard quick guys isn't that big of a deal. It's extremelyyyy early, but he hasn't even been that bad on defense to start his career.

All I'm saying is that him not being able to guard point guards, or quicker players isn't that big of a deal. It's not like he's a 5.

We’ll see I guess, but come time in a playoff series that could be a very big detriment

There’s always someone you can hide on if you’re a perimeter player

Countless examples of guards and wings winning big in the NBA who were average to below average defenders. Luka being average, or even below average on D shouldn't stop Dallas from being a 50 win team, provided he becomes what they think he becomes offensively.

If you're like Kat or Jokic (Until this season) then it's a big issue. I'd be way more concerned w/Ayton than Luka as far as defense is concerned. He's been as bad as advertised on that end and you're gonna have a hard time being a 50 win team if your 5 who plays 35 Min a night is trash on D.

Boston adds the better of the Clips/Grizzlies draft pick. You re-sign Rozier and he becomes your starting PG next season when Collison is off the books. Bob Williams gets legitimate minutes and perhaps shows that he can be a productive rotation big that you have under contract on a cheap rookie deal. Can draft a wing with the Clips/Grizzlies pick.

Does Indiana hang up immediately?

Don’t you guys have enough talent on your team? Have brad Stevens figure out how to make his team be elite. He made a team full of fringe d1 players become elite with butler. Boston has way too much talent to be this mediocre. Stop with the trades and start coaching

Think he may have figured out the starting lineup. Won the last 2 games in impressive fashion. Going to beat the Wolves tonight too.

There’s truth to this but usually those guys Who are below average on defense (Steph, Harden, Westbrook)
Are extremely top tier offensive players... I don’t see Luka being that caliber of offensive player.

As far as the difference between being a bad defender at the Center or on the wings, I think it still has the same effect either way, especially because the game is so perimeter oriented now

Elite Shooter is JJ Reddick, Kyle Korver, KD, Klay Thompson, etc etc... yes we can hope a prospect gets there but if we’re being realistic there’s no signs pointing to him being that level of shooter.

That’s important because given his athletic ability it lowers his ceiling quite a bit imo... that’s not to say he won’t be a good pro an As caliber guy even... but I think that’s his ceiling unless he gets to that level of shooting.

He’s played in a pro league before, where he was the best player on his team & was focused in on.... he shot 31 percent from three.. that combined with a month & a half of slightly above Average three point shooting just doesn’t give me enough confidence to say he’ll become Elite.. will he improve surely

You might be right about his ceiling as a shooter, but his mechanics look solid. So, when I see guys like Brook Lopez and Blake Griffin turn themelves into close to 40 percent 3 point shooters, makes me think Doncic could get there if he works hard enough.

Is it not a valid question? I would bet most the other players in the 90th and up percentile are way faster than him. You really think Luka's deceleration is really the same as someone like a Mike Conley?

One of yall leprechaun mutha****as man I don't know
Is James Harden moving at Mike Conley speed?
