Only way he could have been forced out the league was if the tampering was legit, to the point where the entire organization would've gotten heavily fined.

Even that is a stretch, but who knows.

Jerry West remains unabashed in his affection for the Lakers, still expressing his "love" for them and even admitting that a part of him still yearns to work for the organization that he in so many ways helped to prominence.

West made his feelings clear about the Lakers on Thursday during an interview on "The Dan Patrick Show."

"Sometimes I thought that in my life that maybe that might be something that I can revisit, or they would want me to revisit," West said. "But that didn't happen. At times, I don't say I was disappointed, but it kind of sent me a message that they wanted to go elsewhere, which is fine. But to say that I wouldn't have liked to ended my career there, that wouldn't necessarily be true either."

lol who forced out magic. and why? i mean...i understand the first time, and it was easier because hiv was still confusing....but stern gone.

his press conference sounded too much like relief, not sadness.

Bro just out here throwing straight propaganda now . Me & a select few were the only ones who were defending Magic, As a whole Lakers fans bought the Lebron Hype & were blaming Magic for the results of the team. As far as people lining up to play here.... again is it oochie wally or is it one Mic, either players care about GM, Front Office, Coaches & organizational structure... or they care about quality of lifestyle & outside ventures. It can't conveniently switch up at leisure

If the biggest player in the league, who had literally been to the finals the last 8 years could simply find L.A lifestyle enticing enough to sign with the Lakers (NT told me that was Lebrons only reason) why wouldn't a lesser known player.

Alright maybe y’all can sign 34 year old AD. Or 34 year old Giannis down the line. Maybe even 34 year old Harden. Steph gonna be 34. in a few years. 34 year old KD would be a dope Center. That’s usually when players start thinking more about outside ventures.

One of the supposed Laker dweebs online keeps saying he was forced out by the league and the owner. I'm sure the details of what really happened will come out in short order. Hard to believe he didn't give Jeanie a heads up.

IDK about forced out the league but if you expect me to believe Magic Johnson who literally has known the Buss Family for nearly his entire life.... didn't talk to Jeanie prior to this

Chances are Magic Wanted to Fire Luke, go all in on the Win now plan.... got pushback from other people in the Org & resigned. Dude is a Top 5 player all time & a Billionaire... Magic ain't exactly one who's gonna do well with not being in full control.

Forced out by the league, huh? Is that person wearing a tin foil hat in his profile pic?

Idk it's one of the chief critics of the new regime but he apparently called this happening before today. Says Rob is next and some explosive stuff about to come out about him as well. He's a pretentious prick but who knows.

If Walton retains his job then there's some merit at least to Jeanie basically giving him an ultimatum.

Love that dirk deflected the retirement question all year to avoid attention and a corny farewell tour. Going out with just love for the game.

Na it’s this guy.

He’s been against this FO regime from the jump. He has called things ahead of time. He claims to have been in an advisory role to Jeanie previously. MVP doesn’t like him because he disses Magic any chance he gets.

Maybe you know him being a lawyer in LA and all.
