I don't know what kind of ceiling you can expect SGA. doesn't have a killer first step and the Jump shot doesn't seem projectible to being a threat off the dribble pulling from 3.

:nerd:

His two way ability projects to be really good, and he's insanely crafty around the rim. He's not much of a passer, but had some skilled off handed passes this year when the Clips actually let him be a PG.

A big thing about Shai to me is his rapid development from like a junior to now. That, combined with his age tells me that he's not close to a finished product which makes his ceiling ambiguous for better or worse.

I have no idea on his ceiling either but he was really good at CAS 3's, crafty around the rim, knows how to use his size already, and I value things like this in the playoffs. High level starter doesn't seem out of reach to me.

Worst case scenario - Kawhi stays on the Raptors, Kyrie and KD go to the Nets, the Celtics still stay good and RJ ends up on the Knicks and actually ends up being a star player while the Sixers lose Jimmy and max out Tobias.

I think his floor is really high, but the ceiling desn't seem high enough where he's untouchable in an AD trade.

:lol man I get in arguments with other Clipper fans all the time over this. I love Shai, and think he's a really really good prospect.

But It's ANTHONY DAVIS. The Clips can't even make a serious offer for AD w/o Shai being involved.

To me, either the Clips are serious about making an attempt at AD and including shai, or they aren't and don't. For my bet, I think them not including Shai right now is pure posturing by them.

Maybe not absolutely untouchable, but close. Clippers front office likes SGA a lot.

They traded Blake Griffin after calling him a Clipper for life. If they want a chance at AD, they'll throw Shai on the table at some point.

That plus his size. He is a good enough athlete with the stride to get past players trying to stay in front of him. Great finisher.

Hey but who knows, i keep this beating this dead horse, but if shai learns to shoot 3's off the dribble and a solid rate, he'll probably be an all star.

I suppose, but I think theFO is smart enough to know that if you trade all your best talent for AD, it’s a lateral move. AD and some decent players haven’t really done **** in the West. Won’t be any different with the Clippers. Trading for AD only makes sense if you still have very talented players to play with him.

Well IMO the Clips wouldn't make a play for AD anyway unless they had a Kawhi commitment tbh

As it should be. Problem is, I think an AD trade may happen around draft time and not June 30. So, I don’t think we can get a Kiwi commitment before we’d have to go all in on an AD trade.

You dont have to know how to shoot 3s off the dribble to be a really good player.

To be a really good player? Agreed. But to be an off limits kind of a prospect for a potential AD deal? As a guard? Disagree. As a guard or wing, it's pretty important. Someone who doesn't project to do that should not be off the table in an AD trade.

Who are the best prospects in the game today? Luka? Trae? Zion?

Maybe the only young guys that should be off the table for AD.

Luka is the only guy who'd be off the table for me in an AD trade.

I love trae, probably my favorite player in the league right now but I would do trae / AD in a heartbeat, especially in this scenario where he's put out a "List" and included the hawks.

Having an elite guard and wing is more important than any other position(s) in the league. You can get away with a rim protecting average big.

AD was on some good teams, he's a great player, but idk man. Maybe if he wasnt injury prone.

Almost every team with an elite big (Jokic, Embiid, AD in past years) got eliminated by a team with a much lesser talented big.
