Agreed. Have the duration shortened to 2-3 years but pay 'em more during said term. Luxury tax and salary cap need to be fixed before this happens though.

As a player you're rewarded handsomely and you're not 'tied' to a team for an extended length. As a fan, you aren't subject to a subpar product when players skills start dropping off or they have injuries.

Next year I’m not so sure how productive Paul will be. Maybe when he’s traded he has 1 more motivated year but after that it’s a wrap

No way in hell he'll be motivated in Minnesota - Miami maybe initially but their gonna be racking up Ls this coming season with their roster, especially if Whiteside and some others are moved for CP3.
