In a time where the prevailing idea was "just wait out GSW" it was a smart thing to do. The Lakers plan of "We're the Lakers" didn't work for seven years straight.

Things don't always work as intended.

Hoarding a bunch of mid to late picks was always stupid and I outlined why in real time while everyone was gassing and parroting blog boys. People were acting like you could just trade the 15th, 20th and 28th and move into the top 5 easy peasy. That was the crux of the plan and it never made any kinda sense to me

Splash Mountain has already made a ton of money and I don't see a team that can offer him a chance to win being able to blow 4/45 out the water.

Dude was available for pennies last year for a reason.

If someone offers Brodgon 22-24 you match and trade him before the repeater kicks in 4 years from now.

They shouldn't be a tax team this year then when Giannis signs the Supermax that starts the repeater tax clock.

So they have 4 years to try to win a chip before the repeater comes.
