Everyone is reporting Kawhi is likely to stay
KD is being linked to Brooklyn or GSW
Klay to GSW, unless they don’t offer a max
Kyrie to Brooklyn or you guys
Kemba to Boston
DLo to you guys or Brooklyn
Butler to Houston or Philly

We aren’t the frontrunner to any FA

There's been several reporters saying y'all are the frontrunners for Kawhi or at minimum have the best shot at luring him from Toronto.

Y'all have been linked to every major free agent at one point or another though. My point is why hasn't the possibility of y'all not getting anybody been brought up like it has for us even though from the outside looking in y'all got the stable front office, champ coach, owner willing to spend whatever, etc.?

Woj speculation = trash
Woj reporting = great

Feel like this has to be said after every post with his name in it.

He's literally trying to cover all his bases so you can't say he was wrong. But a blind man can see all the flip flopping. You don't see many of the other top insiders doing this.

Problem is Woj likes to put his 2 cents in. Shams keeps it straight reporting only. Need them to switch tired of seeing herb Woj on ESPN

jimmy butler to houston will be an issue if:

1. harden doesnt give any effort to defend
2. harden doesnt do anything worth a used condom offensively off ball

in other words, it wont work.

They just used a top 10 pick on rim running center. They aren't trading away their best player in order to add another one

That’s just a trade I’d like to see happen but Hayes is a project. Capela would honestly be a good move for them to bring him along then Capela even two years from now at 27 would be easily moveable with the two years left on his deal.

I don't even disagree with this, but it certainly isn't worth losing your best player and lead guard who is one of the best all-around players in the league in order to bring in Capela.

It just isn't remotely realistic.

eric gordon was easily the best player on the court at times for the rockets during the last 2 series' vs gsw and the rockets forgot about him during long stretches. replace him with jimmy butler and what changes besides somebody probably getting slapped in the locker room?

Brought up by who? If you mean on NT, it has been. If you mean by the media, it also has been brought up. A lot of local writers on the Clippers beat have written about their Plan B if they don’t land either Kawhi or KD. Just heard that guy Jovan Buha talking about the same thing on the Petros and Money Show this afternoon. I’ve also heard the guys on NBA radio talk about it. Maybe Laker-centric Twitter feeds and sub-Reddits act like nobody’s talking about the Clippers striking out on big FAs, but that’s actually not what’s going on in reality.

huh? jimmy butler is exponentially better than eric gordon.

I'm talking about the national media types that have linked every free agent to y'all. None of them have brought up the possibility. Even though Kawhi, KD, Kemba, Klay, Jimmy Butler, Al Horford have all been linked to the Clippers. There hasn't been a single negative perspective that I've seen. I just find it odd.

When all we've heard about the Lakers is that "they're not in play for any of the top free agents" for the last week until rather conspicuously yesterday when the pivots started.

Yes, Butler is a much better player than Gordon overall, but he doesn’t necessarily fit in the Rockets system with Harden and CP better than Gordon. One thing Gordon does better than Jimmy is spot-up shoot, which is a pretty important element of the way the Rockets play.

eh i’ll take creating off the dribble any day over spot up shooting. when that houston offense becomes stagnant you need a bonafide shot creator not named gerald green

eric gordon is darn good at creating off the dribble as well. as stated before, the rockets just totally forgot he was on the floor

What exactly should they be saying? Yes, some national columnists have linked players to the Clippers at one time or another, but none of them said it was guaranteed to happen. Most of the time, the stories have been, “the Clippers may be a destination for [player X], IF they don’t go [somewhere else].” Not particularly committal.

If you’re looking for a reason why the coverage of free agency is different for the Lakers than the Clippers, I think its because there’s a perception that the Lakers are on LeBron’s “clock.” They more need to land a big FA ASAP so they can compete for a title in LeBron’s remaining years. The Clippers aren’t on any kind of a clock like that.
