Lakers were the only other suitor and they're going to wait on Kawhi and likely weren't going to offer D'Lo a full max anyway should Kawhi have turned them down. Secure the bag first and worry about the rest later. I'm assuming the Warriors will try and work with him to get him to his desired destination.

No way the Warriors just give DLo away for anything less than a star caliber player
Even if they do, this probably doesn't happen until after next season. It would seem like the exact opposite of what the Warriors would do to make panic moves. But, they did just give us Iggy and a 2024 1st for free.
