Assuming Philly did everything they could to bring back Butler, their haul is about as good as you can ask for sans bringing in Ratsull

Of course there were overpays but that's what was going to happen regardless. They're in the Endgame now

MIL losing Brogdon was huge imo, much worse than Philly losing Butler on the surface not even considering Philly replaced him with Horford and Richardson

I believe it’s 100% true. Rumor is that the Knicks were KD’s top choice, however not offering him the max made him change his mind. With reports that Kawhi wanted to team up with KD, he was probably under the impression that giving the Knicks a meeting would be smart and may entertain them. With the Knicks, not getting KD they probably thought no way Kawhi signs now, and turned him down.

So basically IMO, not maxing KD cost the Knicks, KD, DeAndre Jordan, and POSSIBLY Kawhi.
