1. Kawhi Leonard did not put one of the greatest cities on planet earth "on the map"
this is part of what annoys me, I don't need Kawhi to validate my cities existence. He was a really good basketball player who contributed to winning a chip, nothing more nothing less.

2. You get your Jersey retired not just by winning a championship but by being associated with the franchise and the city in some enduring and permanent way. you don't get that in a year.
if the raptors have an ounce of self respect, Kawhi can have a nice video package when he comes back, a nice applause but ******* JERSEY retirement for his 6 months of service during which he was plotting his move to the clippers??? . cmon son.

He was more than just a good player. He was the best player ever in Toronto Raptors history ....
Ya failed year in and out .... he put ya over the top.
Everything else is a mute point.
And it doesn't take a long term commitment to get recognition. 1 year first chip ever ...
When you look at ya history .... who won the 1st chip KL ... who won your only chip KL ... so this is all relevant to his Jersey retirement.
