I love Pat Beverly but hes a product of good marketing. He’s not as good as a a defender as he gets credit for.

His technique is different and he doesn't look like the best defender in the measurable values. But his motor is unmatched and his game is built on agitation and disruption.

Ask opposing pgs who they hate to face and Patrick Beverly is at the top of the list.

Derozan and Lowry certainly didn’t hate it. Derozan was pissed when he got traded out. Ibaka likes it. Lots of players are on the record for how much they love Toronto.

I don’t think Kawhi leaving had anything to do with disliking Toronto either.

I don’t think Kawhi disliked it but I don’t think he loved it for the reasons I listed.

Derozan was drafted there and Lowry was traded there. Big name free agents aren’t signing there.

The word "elite" is over used. I don't use that word unless it absolutely fits. Gary Payton was a elite defender, Scottie pippen, mj, rodman etc.

I don't know about any of those players being better than Beverly...especially because not one of them could have done what Beverly did defensively against gsw in the first round this past year.

What did Beverly do? He got a lot of camera time. Had some good moments against Durant, also got torched by him on multiple occasions. He wasn’t any type of lockdown player.
