I understand what you’re getting at and agree, but there is a pretty big different between just being able to dunk and be able to throw down windmills. That said, even back when I was playing on traveling teams at around 14 years old, most of the teams had at least one or two guys that could thrown down something serious. So its not that unusual.

Yeah, I hate to sound like a “back in my day” old man, but they played 82 games with more B-2-Bs and 3 games in 4 nights situations and dealing with commercial travel.
I get the arguments about the rigors of the game becoming more demanding because the players are, on average, bigger, more athletic and more skilled, but still. 82 games should be fine.
