i get that
but how does a league "own" an arena ?
arent most privately owned?
or is it cause its an nba team, the nba has stakes in it ....

This article is a little dated, as a couple arenas are now defunct, but is a pretty detailed breakdown of who owns the NBA arenas. I didn't feel like counting them, but let's just say it won't be every arena.

I think teams can buy out properties lol. Not sure of the logistics but for example the Celtics do not own the arena they play at, the bruins do and Celtics pay them rent for it

once reporting goes beyond transactional based stuff, it gets nasty fast

a whole lot of narrative building, back scratching, he said she said, all in the name of being first and getting the exclusive
When it comes to serious stuff or legit moves (like a star player being traded/signed) , Any reporting that comes from “sources” or 2nd hand accounts I’m moving right past it

We need somebody BLACK in that Shams/Woj spot.

That spot is a revolving door.

When I was a kid it was Peter Vescey. He made so many enemies that he’s been unemployed for eternity as far as I know.

There’s been a lot of people in that spot: Broussard, Stephen A at one point, David Aldridge etc.

That top insider spot has always been about who has the most well-placed sources and not really based on race. That spot also doesn’t require that the person is particularly polished on TV (Woj is awful on TV and looks like a pedophile). When those sources go sour or no longer yield the Best info, whoever the insider is cast aside and the spot opens up.

Chris Haynes is still on the come up. He’s been hit and miss but obviously has some good rapport with the players.

Woj won’t be on top forever. You don’t even have to read between the lines to see that he has enemies and grudges.

Beverly may have said what was reported. In intense situations - which this was - people sometimes say things they shouldn’t. But if he apologized and worked things out with Roberts and the discussion was overall productive, then no harm was really done.

Amusing to me though that the people on here that seem most to want what Hayes reported to be true are Lakers fans. Never change guys.
