This both sides again? Democrats are pushing a 2k stimulus RIGHT NOW, and republicans are blocking it. Pelosi wasn't having it cause it protects corporations for 5 years from any COVID related lawsuits. Democrats want more stimulus, Republicans want Corporation bailouts/liability protection..

The 2k is a straight-up bill they will vote on Monday, to increase from 600$ to 2000$. Do a double-take on the roll call and see how many Republicans vote yes/no vs Dems vote Yes/no. It's straight giving more $ to the people, nothing else included.

Actually try without the republicans trying to throw mad extra **** in the bill like companies can't get sued for forcing employees to work under terrible conditions where they can get corona.

That's why it was blocked.

They didn't really try any of that and even then there were no $1200 or $2000 checks in their bill.

A one-time $2000 check won't cover expenses incurred from contracting COVID as a result of being coerced into working in awful conditions. A bill that includes language to shield corporations from reckless endangerment of their employees is a bad bill in the context of an out-of-control pandemic.

Unemployment benefits expiring for millions, the government shutting down tomorrow which will put a ton more civil servants out of work, but Trump is golfing.

Apparently, he is pissed at Congress because:

a) The Dems didn't just agree to the stimulus he wanted before the election
b) That the GOP won't get behind him to steal the election
c) Misunderstands that foreign aid is not part of the Covid relief, but the regular spending bill
b) Congress won't gut the protections for social media companies
