i mean is it bad for the offensive player to take advantage of an out of position defender?

just how defenders take advantage using the charge for an out of position offender

It ain't that black and white at all. :lol

We can pull up a lot of clips where the offensive player is literally jumping on the defender, making damn impossible to contest a shot.

Yeah, the worst is if they get em to bite on the pump and they fly by to the side and the offensive player jumps kinda sideways to get that contact.

All those garbage takes about the league losing viewers for being too 'woke' and players having too much power instead of because of a global pandemic are aging like milk as expected  >D

Haven’t looked into this, but if playoff ratings were historically bad last season is a 39% jump from that a big deal? Isn’t that basically them getting back to normal ratings (pre-pandemic) rather than have an uptick in ratings/popularity?

They were but that was also the case across literally every sports league and tournament last year outside of the WNBA, same for most entertainment events.

Them creeping back to normal levels less than a year later puts all that bs about 'politics' affecting viewership to bed.

Exactly what I was thinking. Would be more interested in a comparison to 2019

Oh yea. I never bought that nonsense so that didn’t even cross my mind. The tweet may be interpreted by some as the NBA is rising in popularity, but I’m not sure if that’s the case. Things are more so stabilizing.

If we wanna keep it a buck, the offensive foul situation gotta be looked at too. Sometimes players are already in their jumping motion and a dude slides in and gets the call.

I agree with this.

How about they address all the illegal screens they allow?

Hasn't the NBA been less political this year though?

Found a comp with 2019, Bucks game 7 was the highest rated one since the Kawhichael shot

Apparently the first round had a near 50% increase from the bubble and 3% from 2019.

Doesn't look they've released second round numbers yet

Looking at these numbers just makes NFL numbers look even crazier to me. It’s wild how much the NFL dominates America. However, when it comes to social media influence, followers, etc, the individuality of the NBA allows players to dominate in that realm. For example, Kuzma has more Instagram followers than Mahomes.

The punishment is that you lose position and give your man a clean look. Why do you think the shooter should be rewarded for jumping into the defender?
Eh do you? If the dribble is already picked up you aren't getting THAT much of a cleaner look. Jumping forward and then getting a foul called on you is the primary deterrent for not biting on pump fakes.

Will be interesting to see from the conference finals forward in comparison since there are "No Stars left"

This is going to be just like them "doing away" with flopping, The NBA has made it known several times that they want the league geared towards offense & high scores, the rules will just continue to reflect that.

I wonder what Finals matchup would get the best views.

Personally in for a Suns/Hawks finals. Idk if that would be the popular choice.

If it's not much of a cleaner look I'd call that good defense :lol. Jumping forward on a 3 I'd say is cheese. From the midrange or paint I'd lean more towards that being a legit shot attempt

clips/bucks
2x mvp in giannis
clippers gms had some of the higher tv viewership ratings this season

nets really would've brought in viewers. so many stars and they would play the "villian" role
