Being a lockdown defender is hard man, to do it consistently for years on end is difficult - especially when your offense RELIES on you.

That’s why it’s much easier for Ben Simmons to focus on his defense. Due to the fact he has plenty of down time on offense.

Not to get my broswizzle on, but it is kind of crazy that the Clippers have Zubac, Ibaka and Cousins and are closing games with Terrance Mann at center with both Bev and Reggie on the floor. :smh:

But line-ups, schemes, etc. aside, I really thing it comes down to this, which I pointed out in the Clippers thread a few months ago

^^^ Yeah, there just seems to be something intangible missing with this squad. Guess I’ll call it “killer instinct” for lack of a better term. Just doesn’t seem to be there, or at least not nearly often enough.

The crazy thing is, last year's team seemed to have it, until they faced Denver in the bubble. The team, was filled with dogs that didn't really fear anyone.

There HAS to be a shake up for the Clippers. I certainly didn't see the Mavs work them like this

Kawhi ain’t been a lock down defender since he started getting buckets. Good? Yes. Lockdown?no..

Exactly this.

And also, nobody in the league is totally locking down Luka, especially if he’s hitting 3s. It’s a team job and the Clippers team is failing at it. Badly.

Going to need Kenny’s pictures from ill steelo ill steelo

Clippers really out here getting sliced up by a dude with 27% body fat and a 19 inch vertical. #couldntbeme

So, we're going to act like Tim Hardaway Jr. didn't have 28 points last night? I think that may have had something to do with the win as well

For sure. Luka did whatever he wanted against the Clippers last playoffs too and Clippers still won the series in 6. The Mavs other guys are making a huge difference in this one. Making really timely shots too. Every time the Clippers started to make a run last night seemed like THJ, Zinger, Brunson, whoever, would make a 3.

I mean you admit it’s unlikely to happen. If part of your scenario includes them trading Draymond then it likely is dead before it even starts. Has nothing to do with being naive, it’s just obvious that Klay, Steph and Dray aren’t going anywhere.
The reason it’s unlikely to happen is because Kawhi probably isn’t requesting to go to the Warriors. But if he did they would create the cap space without a second thought. Even if that meant moving Draymond, restructuring contracts and/or shipping valuable picks to ship contracts.

Who is trading for Draymond though? I guess we've seen Westbrook, Wall, Horford, Paul some immovable contracts being moved lately so maybe. But I'm trying to imagine him as anything more than a great utility guy on a team and catching the Lols. Might find a take my terrible contract for your terrible contract kind of trade though

Even if Kawhi wanted to go to Golden State and the Clippers-Warriors agreed to such a sign and trade, I don't think it can be executed because the Warriors are waaaaaay over the tax line.
