A “short” off-season has nothing to do with injuries. Guys still had months off. How much time should you take off to prevent injuries?

A short offseason and condensed season absolutely play a role here. Not sure if serious.

i don't get the question.

I work in media, media has continued operate. with testing, social distancing, mask requirements ect.
and im quite happy that they continue to do this.

it's a totally tolerable level of risk to maintain the checks that finance my life.

I see Giannis catching a lot of smoke for not guarding KD but I don’t think that was relevant at all. Bud, Giannis and Jrue on offense are completely culpable. Not sure wtf that game plan was. Not going at Harden on the perimeter down the stretch alone is fireable. Giannis clearing listening to the noise and trying to prove himself with these awful jump shots. He should’ve faced up on Harden on that play in the post. Jrue not blowing by Harden when the dude could hardly move. That was an all time bad 4Q.

KD was god level though. Love seeing a performance like that in the biggest moment. I don’t think sitting Harden next game is crazy either. He played 40+ minutes without being able to move and he’s going to potentially play 3 games in 5 days. I’d be terrified of him re-aggravating that hammy or tearing something.

Man, fans can’t assign a season an asterisk. All the stars/playoff teams came to the bubble to win a chip. All lost except the lakers. Can’t assign one for this year either. Injuries aren’t new.

I am big on semantics so last spring during the hiatus I was all about the asterisk for the SEASON because by definition an asterisk is used to denote that there is further information or a difference. Last season was way different than the traditional 82 game season so I felt it was deserving. This season would get one as well because it was 72 games. However, I am against it now because the way most folks use it isn’t for the way it was intended but rather for slander and nastiness.

All the players are playing the same (modified) season under the same circumstances so I don’t see how there can be an asterisk around the champion

The quoted post kinda shows how I feel about asterisks.

Applying them to championships due to injuries is one of the most silliest things that folks do. Injuries are apart of the game, man

Still think Jrue should be the one guarding KD and not Yanni. He can at least stay in front of him at all times and pester him when dribbling. Yes, KD can still shoot over him, but he can do that to everyone anyways. Yanni isn’t sticking with him on the perimeter (and neither is AD for that matter). Put Middleton on Harden. He’s not blowing by anyone on one leg.

Whenever a player gets injured and their team is up people ask why they're in the game at all. I remember when Jamal Murray got injured people were asking why he was still in the game when Denver was up 7 with a minute left.

Stuff happens, a 17-point lead is an insurmountable and if Utah went on a run with Kawhi on the bench you would be questioning that move too.
