that's a wild take considering the majority of the World Cups have been won by South American countries.

Europeans have won the last 4. It’s why you have cats like Mbappe saying things like this:

it’s a wild take that there is european snobbery in football?
Fight me b!tch... :rofl:nah.. its a wild take to even think Europeans have some sort of advantage..

I feel like it’s Leo’s time. He’s paced himself specifically for this and I think the urgency of peak Messi fading will cause his teammates to rally around him and synergize for World Cup magic.

But maybe I’m just trying to jinx it.

still can’t wrap my head around the world cup expanding to even more teams.
everyone is gonna pad their world cup stats

He’s right though. Europeans are feeling themselves. Mbappe wasn’t the only one to make comments like those, he was just the most famous.
Truth is europeans invest in soccer development like no others.
It is why Africa has failed to go far in world cups (other than 1990 Cameroon) but African immigrant children won the 2018 world cup with France.
The answer is funding.

I read a report years back that argued that olympic medal county is strongly correlated with a country’s GDP. Soccer is not much different.

Europe sends scouts and coaches everywhere to learn from others and develop counter tactics. It also doesnt hurt that the best players in the world all go play in their backyard.

On the brightside
European trained players and coaches they dont select can help poor country teams get better training…see Navas, Salah, etc

Fudge. Going to be hellll waking up 5am. Then head to work 730am
