They basically passed it to the goalie  :smh: …Why not just smash the ball hard to a corner?

that Neymar penalty is the only way I get what Japan guys did.. get the goalie to bite and then you’re making sure ball goes to the back of the net

incoming piers morgan slurping.
portugal having ronaldo as the super sub is the only way it makes sense. he hasn’t had a good match in months. let the young guns do the heavy lifting and ronaldo can come in when the game is open and the defenders are tired from chasing leao and felix

Yea def checks out, LeĂŁo should definitely be a starter along with Felix. They're a much more dangerous collective attack with them. Ron in a super sub role would be equally effective too against tired legs like jape jape mentioned but he'd never accept that.

These dudes are the absolute worst man  :smh:

Anyone who has watched videos of Brasilian teams over the past century knows that they’ve always been dancing and bringing style into the sport. I have relatives who grew up in rural parts of Asia, and they all talk about how people used to bring in projector screens so that the entire town could watch films of Brasilian teams. Nobody was watching boring @&$ failure prone English players.

Hearing these dudes who clearly are old enough to have watched peak Brasil talk about “I’m not in love with Brasil anymore” is ridiculous  it just reeks of saltiness.

I’m sure it was deserved.
Yea the caption is misleading, he's apparently been getting harrassed by Algerian fans since Cameroon beat and eliminated them in the WC qualifiers but there was some questionable officiating so their fans have been insulting and calling Cameroonians cheaters.

Dude who got kicked is apparently an Algerian youtuber who was pestering Eto'o about the ref and was accusing him of fixing that match and the match against Brazil. He was also filming the whole thing without consent for his YT. Eto'o's been getting harrassed for 9 months now.

Dude also admitted after he was asking him how much he paid the ref.

When I was younger, Nike got an entire generation into soccer with their ads about Brasilian Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, joga bonito, etc. No male soccer fan I knew growing up gave a damn about Beckham or any other English “star”. Now all of a sudden that entire culture is considered disrespectful…

English sports fans are always so damn salty that they can never win in the sports they “invented” so they always have to go around bashing foreigners and their style of play just to feel good about themselves.

It's fitting though given the contrast in cultures that they hate Brazilian football culture. Their culture matches their country, beautiful weather, people, celebrating with lots of music, dancing and expressing yourself.

Contrasting with the gloomy depressing weather in England, suppressing their feelings, celebrating with lots of drinking, stealing from other cultures etc. Misery sure always loves company over there.

Not a shock that one culture has produced the most WC winning sides ever while the other has only produced a single dubious one.

I'm trying to imagine Kane busting out some dance moves after scoring
Yeah no thanks, leave it up to the people who actually got the moves

Speaking of relatives, to this day a lot of my older relatives always complain about how boring football has gotten. They always bring up the old school Brasil and Argentina teams (they’re not invested in the rivalry, so they admire both) and refuse to believe that anyone can be as good as Pele and Maradona. Messi and Cristiano could score 10000 more goals but the old heads will talk about “It doesn’t matter, Pele and Maradona scored goals with more style”. They HATED the modern Brasil and Argentina teams because of the lack of “tricks” and flair, in their opinion :lol
