Ask and ye shall receive......Cubs sweep the A's!

Good to see Soler coming into form.

Hindsight.....

This time last year, we all looked at Javy as K-machine and trade bait, we all loved Soler and figured he was a mainstay.
This year Javy looks untouchable and Soler's early struggles have made him look very expendable this offseason.

Wonder what we would look like had Kyle never got injured.

Day off tomorrow.

2 vs Angels, then Lester/Arrieta/Hendricks/Hammel vs Cardinals. Chance to murder their souls before mid August. :hat

If Kyle didn't get injured. I think we will be pretty much at 80 wins.

You cant be serious.  You are really trying to say that Schwarber would make your team have 11 more wins than it does at this point?  I hope that I am just misunderstanding you here.

He's not "that" far off.

But not just because of Schwarber.

By the numbers, currently at 69, we have a win expectancy of 74-75 wins. Meaning we've had relative "bad luck" in a few games this year.

Bryant robbed of multiple homers, several fly outs to the wall against the win, etc.

So if we "should" have 74-75, then adding Kyle could be worth an extra 3-4. That approaches the 80.

Now, that's all numbers/projections based. Nothin we can do about that, the reality is 69-41, computers believe it should be 75-35. Saying we've had bad luck is a little greedy, but by the numbers, it just may be that way. Doesn't really mean anything, all just projections.

Ok well that is not what he said.  He said without the injury, you would be at 80 wins....which is completely laughable.  Your explanation makes it less of an asinine statement.

I didn't say we would have exactly 80 wins. I said pretty much as in around 75-78 wins which is pretty much at 80. We are at 69 wins right now which is pretty much 70.

I definitely think a healthy Thuggish Ruggish Schwarbs would've net us 3-5 more wins.

Cubbies win again. Angels looked out of it once we took the lead.

So LaStella never reported to Iowa after being demoted to make room for Coghlan. He's pondering retirement. Not sure how I feel about it.

Won 18 of their last 24, and next 9 games are at home.

1 vs Angels
4 vs Cards
Off day
4 vs Brewers including DH.

Then they travel to Colorado. (Always good for the bats)

Cards lost tonight, now have a full 12 game lead. With 51 to go.

Last year we hit 29 over .500 on Oct 1. This year we do it on Aug 9. :hat

And in a couple weeks we'll get Grimm, Almora, La Stella and Cahill up for added depth/rest for the team.

Amazing year so far. Keep grinding.

Yeah, idk about that. :lol :{

Stella just doesn't wanna play for anyone but us, including Triple A. He'll be back. He's just frustrated havin to grind with young guys and not bein with the real team.

Everyone who gets injured or has time off has to go through the same process. I mean LaStella has been a great player for us but really wouldn't surprise me if he didn't come back. His actions don't make any sense and come off as pretty selfish. That's just how I see it.

Hopefully it's not a severe injury, get Strop a few days (weeks) off, get Grimm back in the pen.

Carl Edwards
Wood
Grimm
Rondon
Chapman for a week or two is still usable.

W. 71-41

Chapman K's the side.

Addy with a clutch insurance home run. :hat

Haven't lost a series in the second half.
