Does seem unnecessary now.

It's goofy ... A&M's only path in right now is through Texas and playing in the SEC title game.

Then they gotta sit if they lose that game and hope the Committee doesn't push out a three-loss team that went 7-1 in conference and would have lost at that point to two Top 5 playoff teams and a solidly Top 20 South Carolina.

And look - A&M is kind of a fringe case regardless. Maaaaybe good enough to win a game if the matchup is right, probably not good enough to win 2.

But there shouldn't be a situation where teams are hoping they DONT play for a conference title.

I hear you, but I'm confident in this group to achieve that goal at least. But yeah, if we lose I'm going to have to go off the grid for a while. We're going to get clowned to oblivion if that happens
Until the GT ****ter I believed… our offense should be good enough to get us there though. We literally have the best offense in the country

EYE don’t really like the CCG games being a factor into seeding nor do I agree with champs getting an auto bye. Putting them into the playoff? Sure. Auto bye? Hell nah

BUT we can all accept it because it means even if Notre Dame someday goes 12-0, they’ll never get a bye :hat

Need Miami to win to avoid the ACC Championship jokes

It’s our only way into the CFP.

Are you guys in the ACC title game right now? I wasn’t sure because Clemson only has one conference loss with 0 conference games left. Miami has 1 conference loss with 2 conference games left. I assume it’ll be some type of tiebreaker then? Obviously if Miami lost it wouldn’t come to that.

SMU has 0 conference losses with 2 conference games left so I guess if they lost 1 of their remaining games it could potentially be a 3 way tie

This stuff is so confusing :lol

Miami has a win over a Louisville and Clemson loss so Miami had the tiebreaker as long as they win out.

That makes sense then. Who would you rather see Miami face between Clemson and SMU? SMU would need to fall flat on their faces for Clemson to get in but hypothetically asking

Close call but I think I’d rather play SMU. Wouldn’t be shocked if they got upset by Virginia tho

We still have to take care of business ourselves, including a tough road test at Syracuse

Clemson has been so streaky. At times they look like their old selves. At other times, they’re complete trash.
Their trenches just aren’t as dominant as they used to be. Their corners hold like hell though our WRs may have some problems getting open. They always have super physical corners.

That game could go either way depending on which McCord shows up IMO. He’s had some games where he balled out and then we’ve seen his real bad games. I don’t know much about their run attack but I know he throws it a ton

What’s crazy is if A&M lost to auburn this weekend (doubtful) and beat Texas, there’d be like 6-7 teams with 2 conference losses :lol

Totally… But at that point the committee’s job is easy. It’s Bama, UGA, Ole Miss and Tennessee, I think.

IDK if two loss Texas with no marquee wins has a case over those four.

Agreed. Though it depends on how far Texas would drop after the A&M loss. If it’s a close game I’d imagine they wouldn’t drop 9+ spots but stranger things have happened

Hard to say, for sure. But they’d definitely have the weakest resume of the bunch and the SEC ain’t getting 5 bids.

I feel like the loser of Texas vs A&M game should still get in. I hate the whole resume thing if a team is winning. I have heard Texas had a weak schedule and Texas A&M had a favorable schedule. Its not their fault that the teams they played had a bad year. If you put those both of them on a neutral field with Tennesse, Penn St, Colorado, Boise or BYU they would beat them
