Billy is apparently a recruiting savant. Get him off play calling duties and we might have ourselves a ******* squad in the next couple years.
A recruiting savant or Lagway gave hope for the future and UF started throwing money around to land kids near NSD that was earmarked for his buyout?

Maybe both ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Supposedly no buyout funds are being used in the NIL fund. But nobody knows what's real anymore with this program. I'm just sitting here happy af we landed some real weapons for Lagway to throw to.

This was already kind of a thing when schools used to place NQ’s in prep schools for a year back in the day.

All this does is probably save/help JUCO ball and probably kill off whatever was left of the prep model.

With NIL there really isn’t scholarship limit anymore, and no reason to waist the resources in trying to create yourself a farm system.

I know he still has nightmares of last year :lol

If he was a recruiting savant, wouldn’t the results have been better recruiting wise prior to this year? This is the first year they even finished above Miami, let alone the SEC convo. Def interested in seeing what UF looks like next year.

So didn't read full article on the JC eligibility but are guys that just used up their 4 years with 1-2 being JC now eligible again or did they put some stipulation in place to prevent that?

I don’t believe UF was ever going to buy Napier out this year. I feel like that was all just national media yapping without actual insight.

2024 was billed as the hardest schedule in history so the admin had a built in excuse, and with revenue sharing they weren’t about to fund that AND dish out buyout money.

Thats before you get to the reports months ago about how UF boosters said they wouldn’t front the money for a buyout and the fact they’re not about to let Scott Stricklin make ANOTHER football hire and… yeah.

Dont even care how or why. Just give me a 9-3 regular season next year and I'll be happy.

Sounds like he got bad advice from his NIL agent on what his market was. He wanted #1 money. He had more production as Miami’s WR3 than Georgia’s WR1. Bama would be a bad decision too. He’s WR3 there at best.

Any chance juco starts to prosper and becomes a little more popular with the "old school" college football feel with D1 moving to semi pro?
