I’m just proud that I called out the tortious interference claim first. I should be tweeting this stuff.

The house settlement takes effect on July 1. All the schools are front loading money to pay out immediately so it’s not subject to the scrutiny of the house settlement. So all that stuff Mulvaney is saying probably doesn’t apply if the kid already took payment under the contract. The kid will allege he tried to pay them back in full. Wisconsin will allege they didn’t recruit his position because of the agreement they had with him and performance on their end. They’ll say they were harmed by his breach.
He hasn’t taken payment from Wisconsin. That has been clear. The attorney representing him has reiterated that. They’re claiming tortious interference for a contract that’s not even legal in the sport yet? They know it’s BS and they’re just grandstanding. The kid signed an MOU that’s contingent on the House settlement — but the agreement is supposed to be NIL based anyways. They don’t want the players to be classified as employees. So what’s the damages for a marketing agreement for a player who no one knows lol. They’re begging the NCAA, who wants nothing to do with actually doing anything to get involved.

He hasn’t taken money from Wisconsin yet as part of the rev share.

The collective claims they did give him money and did so with the understanding that he had signed that agreement with Wisconsin.

It’s he said she said, and the kids lawyer is banking on Wisconsin not wanting to prove a pay for play paper trail. Same way they probably didn’t think Wisconsin would go public threatening legal action. To this point NIL and tampering has all been quiet backroom dealings because of the potential for mutually assured destruction.

Yes — Wisconsin is the party who’s involved here and is whining about him signing that deal.

Yea, that’s not gonna fly. Wisconsin can’t violate NCAA rules because of a MOU that the kid signed for a framework that isn’t even approved yet. Kids transfer all the time while having signed NIL with collectives. The collective is separate from the university and is supposed to be about their name, image and likeness. This sounds like pay for play, which they are saying it isn’t. If Wisconsin’s collective drafted a ****** agreement re: payment, then that’s an L you just have to hold. You can’t hold the kid hostage.

I’d be shocked if Wisconsin has some sort of smoking gun here that proves otherwise. It’s all grandstanding.

Typed “true qb battles” and didn’t realize auto correct changed it to tenure. My bad.

But yeah, Kirby seems to like to know who his guy is going into camps. Jaden wasn’t winning that job. Especially if he was in the portal searching for a starter.

Gotcha. I think you are right that Kirby typically likes to have his guy going into the season but also, Kirby has been open to making QB changes in the middle of the season when necessary (Grayson Lambert to Jake Eason in 2016, Dwan Mathis to Stetson Bennett). A lot of the other QB changes Kirby has had in his tenure have been due to injury.

The only real QB battles George has ever had were in 2018 where Jake Fromm was chosen over Justin Fields and Carson Beck over Vandagriff (If you are willing to call that a QB battle lol).

With Rashada coming to UGA and then transferring your later, I really question why he even came to Eugene the first place. Going into the season, he was battling against Carson Beck (5th year player) and Gunner Stockton (3rd-year player). Did he really think he was going to come in and take the job away from these guys who had been on campus and established themselves?

These schools have performance escalators in the agreement and are trying to argue it’s not pay for play

🤷🏾‍♂️

Also contains a non-compete. They absolutely have a cause of action.

Could also be ruled unenforceable cuz how do you hold a non-employee to a non-compete clause, no matter what consideration you give in exchange.

I'm sure we tampered our balls off. We need Corners. I don't care what Wisconsin or the Big10 says tho, they demolished a whole *** conference. They can kick rocks.

Everybody tampers. There’s no transfer that’s happening without tampering. Kid’s dad is sick and he wanted to come back home. Miami was the runner up. Miami had a kid who entered the portal and committed to Wisky the next day lol. No tampering though?

I wanted to say we gave them TVD last year, call it a fair trade. :lol

Idk if it's the NFL or what but lead up to the game has felt quiet

I think it's a couple different factors. It's really cold in Atlanta for this time of year. The inauguration and college football being played even deeper into the NFL season have sucked all of the air out of the room.

IMO, for people willing, just wait before kickoff and the price plummets for the unsold. Obviously a risk, but if people don’t live far from the venue or you’re willing to roll the dice, sellers will get desperate.

Some people show up and figure if they don’t get in, they can tailgate. When I went to see the NCG in Pasadena, my buddy lived in LA drove his RV there and he paid half of what I paid and better seats for the game and mine were through FSU 🤣. He is a PSU fan and couldn’t have given a **** less. So all in, he was like $200 for his ticket. He was there to hangout, get blitzed, and get some usage out of the RV.
